Abstract
Indonesia memiliki budaya kekeluargaan yang kuat, sehingga hari libur biasanya dimanfaatkan untuk berkumpul dan mengunjungi lokasi wisata. Salah satu destinasi favorit di Yogyakarta adalah kawasan Malioboro, yang pada puncaknya pernah dikunjungi hingga 205.000 orang per hari. Kawasan ini tidak hanya populer, tetapi juga memiliki nilai filosofis karena berada pada sumbu sakral Yogyakarta dan sering menjadi lokasi penyelenggaraan acara besar seperti konser, pengajian, serta kegiatan fun run yang memicu konsentrasi kerumunan pada titik tertentu. Di sisi lain, sanitasi merupakan kebutuhan dasar manusia yang harus tersedia secara mudah dan memadai. Namun, kondisi Malioboro yang padat, keterbatasan ruang akibat aturan filosofis kota, serta sebaran pengunjung yang dinamis menimbulkan tantangan besar dalam penyediaan fasilitas toilet umum. Saat ini, toilet umum di kawasan Malioboro hanya tersebar pada sepuluh titik, berlokasi di gang atau di dalam toko, minim penunjuk arah, dan memiliki fasilitas yang kurang memadai. Hal ini mengakibatkan keluhan dan pengalaman buruk bagi pengunjung. Metode penelitian menggunakan data primer yang diperoleh dari wawancara dan kuisioner kepada pihak pemerintah dan pengunjung serta data sekunder yang diperoleh dari jurnal dan penelitian sebelumnya. Berdasarkan permasalahan dari fenomena, proyek ini bertujuan untuk merancang mobile restroom yang mampu beroperasi di kawasan padat seperti Malioboro. Unit dirancang dengan dimensi kompak agar sesuai dengan keterbatasan ruang, tanpa mengganggu nilai Sumbu Filosofis. Basis kendaraan menggunakan trailer untuk mendukung mobilitas dan fleksibilitas manuver dalam penentuan posisi operasional sesuai kondisi akses jalan. Inovasi utama meliputi sistem black tank portabel (casette tank) yang memungkinkan operasional di area tanpa jaringan limbah terpusat, serta tata ruang interior modular yang memberikan fleksibilitas dalam konfigurasi fasilitas sanitasi dan wudhu bagi umat muslim. Melalui skema Business to Government (B2G), desain ini diharapkan mendukung pemerintah daerah dalam penyediaan toilet umum di Malioboro guna meningkatkan kesejahteraan pengunjung, menjaga kualitas pengalaman wisata, dan pada akhirnya mendukung perekonomian kawasan tersebut.

Indonesia has a strong family oriented culture, therefore public holidays are commonly used for gathering and visiting tourist destinations. One of the most popular destinations in Yogyakarta is the Malioboro area, which at its peak has been visited by up to 205,000 people per day. This area is not only popular but also holds philosophical significance as it lies along the sacred axis of Yogyakarta and frequently serves as a venue for large-scale events such as concerts, religious gatherings, and fun runs, which create concentrated crowds at certain points. On the other hand, sanitation is a basic human necessity that must be provided in an accessible and adequate manner. However, the high density of Malioboro, spatial limitations due to the city's philosophical regulations, and the dynamic distribution of visitors pose significant challenges in providing public toilet facilities. Currently, public toilets in the Malioboro area are limited to ten locations, situated in alleys or inside shops, with minimal signage and inadequate facilities. This condition results in complaints and negative experiences for visitors. The research method utilizes primary data obtained through interviews and questionnaires distributed to government representatives and visitors, as well as secondary data from journals and previous studies. Based on the identified problems, this project aims to design a mobile restroom capable of operating in dense areas such as Malioboro. The unit is designed with compact dimensions to accommodate spatial limitations without disrupting the Philosophical Axis. The vehicle base uses a trailer system to support mobility and flexible maneuvering in determining operational positioning according to road access conditions. The main innovations include a portable black tank (cassette tank) system that enables operation in areas without centralized wastewater networks, as well as a modular interior layout that provides flexibility in configuring sanitation and ablution facilities for Muslim users. Through a Business to Government (B2G) scheme, this design is expected to support the local government in providing public toilet facilities in Malioboro to enhance visitor well-being, maintain the quality of the tourism experience, and ultimately contribute to the area's economy.
