Abstract

Diperlukan total biaya Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) sebesar Rp 513.565.180.330; Working Capital Investment sebesar Rp 90.629.149.470; Total Capital Investment (TCI) Rp 604.194.329.799; Total Production Cost (TPC) Rp 1.108.929.925.591.

The demand for industrial salt in Indonesia continues to increase in line with the development of the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, and water treatment industries. However, domestic industrial salt production has not been able to meet national demand, resulting in large quantities of industrial salt still being imported. On the other hand, Indonesia has great potential in the form of abundant traditional salt, but its quality still does not meet industrial salt specifications. Therefore, further processing is needed to increase the sodium chloride (NaCl) content and reduce the impurity content. The design of an industrial salt factory using traditional salt as raw material employs a washing process with a brine solution. The process selection was made by comparing three alternative technologies, namely the washing method, recrystallization with Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR), and recrystallization with purification. The production process includes pre-treatment stages with raw material size reduction, two-stage washing using brine solution to remove impurities, separation of salt crystals and brine solution, drying and cooling to reduce the water content and temperature of the product, filtering to obtain the product size according to specifications, as well as brine processing and recycling through the impurity precipitation process. The factory is designed with a production capacity of 300,000 tons of industrial salt per year, which is intended to replace approximately 10% of the national industrial salt import requirements. The total Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) required is IDR 513.565.180.330; Working Capital Investment of IDR 90.629.149.470; Total Capital Investment (TCI) of IDR 604.194.329.799; Total Production Cost (TPC) of IDR 1.108.929.925.591. The estimated sales value in the first year is Rp 864.000.000.000 and in the second year onwards is Rp 1.440.000.000.000. with an IRR of 17,5% and a Pay Out Time (POT) of 4,36 years, and an NPV of IDR 295.711.417.320, indicating that this industrial salt factory is feasible to establish.
