Abstract
Pabrik bioetanol ini direncanakan berlokasi di Sumenep, Jawa Timur dengan kapasitas sebesar 15.000 kL/tahun dan beroperasi selama 330 hari/tahun. Proses produksi dimulai dengan tahap pre-treatment yang mencakup proses pencucian bahan baku, penggilingan rumput laut menjadi serbuk, dan dilanjutkan proses ekstraksi dengan air panas. Proses berlanjut ke tahap pemecahan gula sederhana dengan metode hidrolisis asam yang menggunakan asam sulfat serta hidrolisis enzim yang menggunakan enzim celluclast serta β-glucosidase. Tahap berikutnya fermentasi yaitu mengonversi gula sederhana menjadi etanol yang dibantu menggunakan yeast
Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Proses distilasi digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemurnian etanol sehingga dapat memenuhi standart bioethanol fuel grade yaitu >99%. Namun, pada proses pemisahan antara etanol-air terdapat fenomena azeotrop sehingga kemurnian maksimal yang dicapai hanya berada pada angka <90% Sehingga, tahap pemurnian bioetanol lanjutan dengan teknologi molecular sieve dipilih karena mampu menghasilkan produk etanol dengan kemurnian yang lebih tinggi. Untuk merealisaikan rancangan proses tersebut, diperlukan total biaya Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) sebesar Rp 57,321,073,939; Working Capital Investment
sebesar Rp 8,598,161,091; Total Capital Investment (TCI) sebesar Rp 83,115,557,212; Total Production Cost (TPC) sebesar Rp 146,106,736,703. Nilai estimasi penjualan pada tahun pertama diperoleh sebesar Rp 110.882.218.537 dan pada tahun kedua Rp 147.842.958.049, tahun ketiga hingga seterusnya sebesar Rp 184.803.697.561, diperoleh nilai IRR sebesar 34.16% dengan waktu Pay Out Time (POT) selama 3 tahun, dan NPV sebesar Rp 142,063,962,502yang menunjukkan bahwa pabrik bioetanol ini layak untuk didirikan.

This bioethanol plant is planned to be located in Sumenep, East Java, with a capacity of 15,000 kL/year and will operate for 330 days/year. The production process begins with a pretreatment stage, which includes washing the raw materials, grinding the seaweed into powder, and then continuing with the extraction process using hot water. The process then moves to the stage of breaking down simple sugars through acid hydrolysis using sulfuric acid and enzymatic hydrolysis using cellulase and β-glucosidase enzymes. The next stage is fermentation, which converts simple sugars into ethanol with the help of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. The distillation process is used to increase ethanol purity so that it meets the bioethanol fuel-grade standard of >99%. However, in the separation process between ethanol and water, an azeotrope phenomenon occurs, so the maximum purity achieved is only around <90% Therefore, the advanced bioethanol purification stage using molecular sieve technology was chosen because it can produce ethanol with higher purity. To realize this process design, a total Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) of IDR 57,321,073,939 is required; Working Capital Investment of IDR 8,598,161,091; Total Capital Investment (TCI) of IDR 83,115,557,212; Total Production Cost (TPC) of IDR 146,106,736,703. The estimated sales value in the first year is IDR 110.882.218.537, in the second year IDR 147.842.958.049, and from the third year onwards IDR 184.803.697.561. The IRR is 40.46% with a Pay Out Time (POT) of 3 years, and an NPV of IDR 142,063,962,502, indicating that this bioethanol plant is feasible to establish.
