Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang sistem monitoring kualitas lingkungan kandang ayam broiler berbasis ESP-NOW yang dilengkapi alarm deteksi Heat Stress untuk mengatasi tingginya tingkat kematian ayam akibat perubahan iklim ekstrem dan kurangnya pemantauan lingkungan yang memadai. Sistem dibangun untuk memantau temperatur, kelembapan, kadar amonia (NH3), dan kecepatan angin secara real-time di dalam kandang ayam broiler close house menggunakan sensor SHT20, MQ-137, dan anemometer yang terintegrasi dengan ESP32, di mana unit slave mengumpulkan data dan unit master mengolah serta menampilkan informasi melalui layar Nextion. Data dikirim secara nirkabel menggunakan protokol ESP-NOW, dan alarm otomatis aktif ketika Heat Stress Index (HSI) melampaui ambang batas. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan akurasi sensor di atas 95%, tampilan data real-time yang stabil, serta kualitas komunikasi yang andal dengan delay, jitter, dan data loss sangat rendah pada jarak 20 sampai 30 meter dan tetap stabil hingga 60 meter. Pengujian alarm membuktikan sistem mampu mendeteksi Heat Stress secara konsisten, di mana alarm menyala saat nilai HSI lebih dari 160. Hasil pemantauan selama 30 hari menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan HSI berpengaruh langsung terhadap kondisi ayam broiler, ditandai dengan munculnya Heat Stress, penurunan aktivitas, serta meningkatnya angka kematian. Secara keseluruhan, sistem monitoring ini bekerja akurat, responsif, dan efektif sebagai alat deteksi dini Heat Stress, sehingga dapat membantu peternak menjaga kesehatan ayam broiler dan meningkatkan efisiensi produksi.

This research aims to design an ESP-NOW-based broiler chicken coop environmental quality monitoring system equipped with a Heat Stress detection alarm to overcome the high mortality rate of chickens due to extreme climate change and inadequate environmental monitoring. The system is built to monitor temperature, humidity, ammonia (NHs) levels, and wind speed in real-time inside closed broiler chicken coops using SHT20, MQ-137, and anemometer sensors integrated with ESP32, where the slave unit collects data and the master unit processes and displays information via a Nextion screen. Data is transmitted wirelessly using the ESP-NOW protocol, and an automatic alarm is activated when the Heat Stress Index (HSI) exceeds the threshold. Test results show sensor accuracy above 95%, stable real-time data display, and reliable communication quality with very low delay, jitter, and data loss at distances of 20 to 30 meters, remaining stable up to 60 meters. Alarm testing proved that the system is capable of consistently detecting Heat Stress, where the alarm sounds when the HSI value exceeds 160. Monitoring results over 30 days showed that an increase in HSI had a direct effect on the condition of broiler chickens, marked by the onset of Heat Stress, decreased activity, and increased mortality rates. Overall, this monitoring system operates accurately, responsively, and effectively as an early detection tool for Heat Stress, enabling timely intervention to prevent adverse effects on poultry health.
