Abstract
Kebutuhan layanan komputasi mandiri di lingkungan kampus terus meningkat untuk mendukung praktikum dan penelitian mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merancang dan mengimplementasikan infrastruktur berbasis Proxmox VE 9 tiga node beserta layanan Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) untuk skala kampus, menggunakan metode rancang bangun. Layanan IaaS disediakan melalui portal web swalayan dengan mekanisme permintaan–persetujuan (request–approval) dari template cloud-init, didukung agregasi tautan jaringan (NIC bonding / LACP), NFS, pencadangan terpusat Proxmox Backup Server (PBS), dan High Availability (HA). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan cluster dengan kapasitas agregat ±84 core dan ±160 GB RAM mampu menjalankan 30 VM serempak pada utilisasi CPU rata-rata 18,4% (puncak 53,0%) dan memori 55,4%, dengan batas jenuh praktis ±48–57 VM sehingga memadai untuk 30–40 mahasiswa per sesi. Mekanisme HA memulihkan layanan secara otomatis dengan downtime ±71 detik tanpa intervensi manual, sementara PBS berhasil melakukan pencadangan full/incremental dan pemulihan (restore) VM yang valid. Dengan demikian, infrastruktur skala kampus yang fungsional, terkelola, dan andal dapat dibangun menggunakan perangkat lunak open-source Proxmox VE.

The demand for self-managed computing services on campus continues to grow to support students’ laboratory work and research. This study designs and implements a infrastructure based on a three-node Proxmox VE 9 , together with an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform at campus scale, using a design-and-implementation method. The IaaS service is delivered through a self-service web portal with a request–approval mechanism based on cloud-init templates, supported by network link aggregation (NIC bonding / LACP), NFS , centralized backup using Proxmox Backup Server (PBS), and High Availability (HA). The test results show that the cluster, with an aggregate capacity of ±84 cores and ±160 GB RAM, runs 30 concurrent VMs at an average CPU utilization of 18.4% (peak 53.0%) and 55.4% memory usage, with a practical saturation point of around 48–57 VMs—sufficient for 30–40 students per session. The HA mechanism restored services automatically with a downtime of approximately 71 seconds without manual intervention, while PBS performed valid full/incremental backups and VM restoration. Therefore, a functional, manageable, and reliable campus-scale infrastructure can be built using the open-source Proxmox VE software.
