Abstract

Laporan magang ini membahas kajian operasi mode In-Line Calciner (ILC) dan Separate Line Calciner (SLC) pada sistem Preheater-Calciner Kiln di Pabrik Tuban 3, PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Sistem ini berperan penting dalam proses pemanasan material untuk meningkatkan efisiensi termal dan kestabilan produksi clinker. Tujuan kajian adalah menganalisis perbedaan kedua mode operasi, dampak peralihan mode, serta menyusun rekomendasi optimasi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi langsung di lapangan, pengamatan di Central Control Room (CCR), dan analisis data operasional. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa mode SLC digunakan sebagai mode default pada kondisi stabil karena jalur gas terpisah, sehingga dekarbonasi lebih optimal dan beban kiln lebih ringan. Mode ILC dipakai sebagai alternatif saat gangguan suplai bahan baku (Raw Mill trip), meskipun menghasilkan temperatur material lebih rendah. Peralihan ke ILC secara sering menyebabkan penurunan efisiensi, peningkatan reject material, dan fluktuasi biaya operasional. Rekomendasi utama meliputi peningkatan keandalan Limestone Reclaimer, preventive maintenance bin raw material, serta optimasi tuning PID pada mode ILC. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat mendukung peningkatan stabilitas produksi clinker di Pabrik Tuban.

This internship report discusses a study of the In-Line Calciner (ILC) and Separate Line Calciner (SLC) operating modes in the Preheater-Calciner Kiln system at the Tuban 3 Plant, PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. This system plays a crucial role in the material heating process to improve thermal efficiency and clinker production stability. The objective of the study is to analyze the differences between the two operating modes, assess the impact of mode switching, and formulate optimization recommendations. The methods used included direct field observations, monitoring in the Central Control Room (CCR), and analysis of operational data. The study results showed that the SLC mode is used as the default mode under stable conditions because the gas lines are separate, resulting in more optimal decarbonization and a lighter kiln load. The ILC mode is used as an alternative during raw material supply disruptions (Raw Mill trip), although it results in lower material temperatures. Frequent switching to ILC mode leads to reduced efficiency, increased material reject rates, and fluctuations in operating costs. Key recommendations include improving the reliability of the Limestone Reclaimer, performing preventive maintenance on the raw material bin, and optimizing PID tuning in ILC mode. This study is expected to support improved clinker production stability at the Tuban Plant.
