Abstract

This internship report was prepared based on the industrial internship conducted at PT Superintending Company of Indonesia (SUCOFINDO) Surabaya Branch in the Technical Inspection unit from 3 February 2025 to 31 May 2025. During the internship, the author gained experience and understanding of the inspection workflow, certification and re-certification procedures, technical document review, verification and visual inspection, non-destructive testing, and inspection report preparation. In addition, this report presents a special project focusing on a comparative analysis of hydrant fitness standards using hydrostatic test and flow test methods based on NFPA 25 and INS.11/M/BW/1997. The discussion results indicate that NFPA 25 emphasizes periodic hydraulic testing to assess the performance and reliability of the hydrant system, while INS.11/M/BW/1997 focuses on the inspection of installation completeness, equipment condition, and compliance with applicable technical requirements. Both standards share the same objective, namely, to ensure that the hydrant system is safe, reliable, and suitable for fire protection purposes. However, they differ in inspection scope, test parameters, implementation frequency, and evaluation format. Therefore, understanding both standards is essential as a basis for determining the fitness of hydrant systems in industrial facilities.
