Abstract
Kebutuhan akan sumber energi terbarukan semakin mendesak seiring dengan menipisnya cadangan bahan bakar fosil dan meningkatnya emisi gas rumah kaca secara global. Bioetanol yang berasal dari limbah biomassa, seperti kupasan kulit buah muncul sebagai solusi strategis karena ketersediaan bahan bakunya yang melimpah dan sifatnya yang ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis kulit buah dan konsentrasi substrat terhadap kadar gula reduksi, dan pengaruh hidrolisis enzim terhadap karakteristik gugus fungsi kulit buah, serta mengetahui kadar bioetanol tertinggi yang dihasilkan dari masing-masing kulit buah. Dalam penelitian ini, susbtrat yang digunakan adalah kupasan kulit pisang, nanas dan semangka yang diproses melalui tahapan pretreatment dengan melakukan pengeringan kupasan kulit buah, kemudian dilanjut pada proses hidrolisis enzimatik dan fermentasi. Efisiensi kedua metode diuji berdasarkan parameter kadar gula reduksi, durasi hidrolisis dan fermentasi, dan kadar etanol yang dihasilkan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan hasil kadar gula reduksi berdasarkan variasi kulit buah dari tinggi ke rendah seacra berturut-turut kulit nanas, kulit semangka, dam kulit pisang. Pengaruh konsentrasi substrat terhadap kadar gula reduksi berbanding lurus dimana semakin tinggi konsentrasi substrat maka semakin tinggi pula kadar gula reduksi yang dihasilkan. Kadar bioetanol tertinggi yang dihasilkan dari variasi kulit buah nanas dengan konsentrasi substrat 110 gr/L sebesar 11,48%, variasi kulit buah semangka dengan konsentrasi substrat 110 gr/L sebesar 7,14%, dan variasi kulit buah pisang dengan konsentrasi substrat 110 gr/L sebesar 5,18%. Pengaruh hidrolisis enzim terhadap karakteristik masing-masing jenis substrat tidak menunjukan banyak perbedaan, hanya terjadi perubahan intensitas peak pada hasil FTIR.

Bioethanol derived from biomass waste, such as fruit peels, has emerged as a strategic solution due to its abundant raw material availability and environmentally friendly nature. This study aims to analyze and compare the effect of conventional fermentation methods (Separate Hydrolysis and Fermentation) on the yield of bioethanol produced. In this study, fruit peel waste was processed through a pretreatment stage by drying the fruit peels, followed by enzymatic hydrolysis and fermentation. The efficiency of both methods was tested based on parameters such as ethanol content, glucose consumption, and fermentation duration using Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. The results of this study show Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out the results of reducing sugar levels based on substrate variations from high to low respectively pineapple peel, watermelon peel, and banana peel. The effect of substrate weight on reducing sugar levels is directly proportional where the higher the substrate weight, the higher the resulting reducing sugar levels. The highest bioethanol content produced from pineapple peel variations with a substrate consentration of 110 gr/L is 11.48%, watermelon peel variations with a substrate weight of 110 gr/L is 7.14%, and banana peel variations with a substrate weight of 110 gr/L is 5.18%. The effect of enzyme hydrolysis on the characteristics of each type of substrate does not show much difference, only changes in peak intensity in the FTIR results.
