Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh implementasi Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) nasional sejak 6 Januari 2025 dan capaian penurunan stunting yang signifikan di Kota Surabaya, sehingga muncul kebutuhan media edukasi gizi yang berdurasi pendek, alur narasi yang jelas, dan mudah dipahami untuk memperkuat penerimaan serta pemahaman siswa terhadap menu MBG. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengoptimalisasi proses produksi animasi 2D hybrid yang menggabungkan teknik konvensional dan Generative AI (GenAI) dalam pembuatan media edukasi pendukung Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG). Fokus kajian yaitu evaluasi proses produksi Animasi 2D itu sendiri. Penilaian optimalisasi dilakukan oleh praktisi dan ahli animasi Desain Komunikasi Visual (DKV).
Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE yang dimodifikasi, dilengkapi instrumen kuesioner penilaian optimalisasi berbasis indikator efisiensi waktu, konsistensi visual, fleksibilitas revisi, dan integrasi AI. Data dikumpulkan dari responden ahli dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif serta tematik. Berdasarkan 13 tahap produksi, 4 tahap (31%) menggunakan Generative AI untuk tugas teknis seperti pewarnaan karakter, storyboard, aksesoris, voice over, dan animasi. Sebaliknya, 9 tahap lainnya (69%) masih dilakukan secara manual karena memerlukan kreativitas dan penalaran manusia. Ini mengindikasikan bahwa produksi tetap menerapkan prinsip human-in-the-loop, di mana manusia tetap menjadi pengendali utama dalam proses kreatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian berdasarkan data kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang didapat. Hasil penilaian untuk tingkat optimalisasi berdasarkan data Kuantitatif mencapai 65% dan sudah termasuk kategori cukup optimal, dengan indikator 70% pada proses tingkat control manuasia tanpa bantuan GenAI. Rekomendasi perbaikan proses disusun berdasarkan masukan ahli. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan metodologi produksi animasi hybrid di Indonesia.

This research was prompted by the implementation of the national Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) since 6 January 2025 and the significant reduction in stunting in the city of Surabaya, which has created a need for short-form nutritional educational media with a clear narrative flow that is easy to understand, in order to strengthen pupils’ acceptance of and understanding of the MBG menu. The objective of this study is to optimise the production process of hybrid 2D animation that combines conventional techniques and Generative AI (GenAI) in the creation of educational media to support the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG). The focus of the study is the evaluation of the 2D animation production process itself. The optimisation assessment was carried out by Visual Communication Design (VCD) students, animation studio practitioners, and animation experts. The method employed was research and development (Research and Development) using a modified ADDIE model, supplemented by an evaluation questionnaire designed to assess optimisation based on indicators of time efficiency, visual consistency, flexibility of revision, and AI integration. Data were collected from expert respondents and analysed using quantitative descriptive and thematic methods. Of the 13 production stages, four (31%) utilize Generative AI for technical tasks such as character coloring, storyboarding, accessory design, voice-overs, and animation. Conversely, the remaining nine stages (69%) are still performed manually, as they require human creativity and reasoning. This indicates that production continues to apply the "human-in-the-loop" principle, with humans remaining the primary controllers of the creative process.
The study's findings are based on the qualitative and quantitative data obtained. The assessment of the optimization level, based on quantitative data, reached 65% categorized as "sufficiently optimal" with a 70% indicator for the human-controlled process performed without GenAI assistance. Recommendations for process improvements were formulated based on expert input. This research contributes to the development of hybrid animation production methodology in Indonesia.
