Abstract

A tracer study is an evaluation tool used to track and collect information regarding the status and profiles of alumni after they complete their higher education. To date, no tracer study has been specifically conducted on alumni of the Statistics Undergraduate Program at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS); therefore, this study aims to identify the characteristics and relationships among variables in the profiles of alumni from the 2015–2021 cohorts. The data used consists of primary data obtained through a survey distributed via a Google Form questionnaire with 26 variables covering sociodemographic aspects, educational history, employment profiles, and alumni engagement, with 417 respondents out of a total of 1,006 alumni (effective response rate: 41.45%). The analytical methods employed included descriptive analysis, independence tests, and correspondence analysis to map the relationships among variable categories. The analysis results indicate that the majority of alumni are employed, with a small portion continuing their studies or running their own businesses. The level of alumni engagement remains generally low. The results of the independence test of 261 variable combinations yielded 108 significant pairs, with the 7 best pairs selected for correspondence analysis. The results of the analysis show that gender tends to be associated with job position; alumni with higher GPAs tend to pursue further studies, while those with lower GPAs tend to become entrepreneurs; field of work is associated with company type; younger alumni tend to be more active in volunteer work; more recent graduating classes are more active in events; alumni who pursue further studies are more interested in publishing; and mentoring activity is associated with publishing activity. It is hoped that the results of this study can be used as supporting information for academic programs to better understand alumni profiles and strengthen the sustainable management of alumni relations.
