Abstract
Indonesia merupakan negara dengan tingkat aktivitas seismik yang tinggi sehingga banyak bangunan eksisting yang dibangun berdasarkan peraturan lama perlu dievaluasi kembali. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dan meningkatkan kinerja seismik gedung perkantoran beton bertulang berusia sekitar 60 tahun di Jakarta menggunakan Fluid Viscous Damper (FVD) sesuai SNI 9273:2025. Evaluasi dilakukan secara bertahap melalui prosedur Tier 1, Tier 2, dan Tier 3 menggunakan Nonlinear Time History Analysis (NLTHA) dengan rekaman gempa yang telah dilakukan pencocokan spektrum terhadap spektrum target SNI 1726:2019. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa struktur eksisting belum memenuhi target performa pada tingkat gempa BSE-2E, terutama ditinjau dari simpangan antar lantai dan respons nonlinear struktur. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan perencanaan retrofit menggunakan FVD yang dimodelkan sebagai elemen Damper–Exponential pada ETABS. Hasil perencanaan menunjukkan bahwa FVD dengan kapasitas 1000 kN dan 2000 kN yang ditempatkan pada lantai 2 hingga lantai 6 mampu meningkatkan redaman struktur dan menurunkan respons seismik. Struktur teredam menunjukkan penurunan periode getar, gaya geser dasar, perpindahan struktur, dan simpangan antar lantai dibandingkan struktur eksisting. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, penerapan FVD terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kinerja seismik gedung sehingga memenuhi target performa Collapse Prevention sesuai ketentuan SNI 9273:2025.

Indonesia is located in a highly seismic region; therefore, many existing buildings designed under older codes require reassessment. This study aims to evaluate and enhance the seismic performance of a reinforced concrete office building in Jakarta that has been in service for approximately 60 years by implementing Fluid Viscous Dampers (FVDs) in accordance with SNI 9273:2025. The evaluation was conducted through Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 procedures, including Nonlinear Time History Analysis (NLTHA) using spectrum-matched ground motion records based on the target spectrum specified in SNI 1726:2019. The results indicate that the existing structure does not satisfy the required performance objectives under the BSE-2E hazard level, particularly in terms of interstory drift and nonlinear structural response. Consequently, a seismic retrofit scheme employing FVDs modeled as Damper–Exponential link elements in ETABS was developed. The proposed retrofit utilizes 1000 kN and 2000 kN dampers installed on Floors 2 through 6. The retrofitted structure exhibited improved damping characteristics and reduced seismic responses. Significant reductions were observed in the natural period, base shear, roof displacement, and interstory drift compared with the original structure. The findings demonstrate that Fluid Viscous Dampers are effective in enhancing seismic performance and enabling the building to achieve the Collapse Prevention performance objective required by SNI 9273:2025.
