Abstract

Project scheduling is one of the most important aspects of controlling project time and cost. This study aims to compare the Critical Path Method (CPM) and the Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) for scheduling the fabrication of the Double Bottom and Lower Mega Block Inner 02 structures of the Topside Offshore Wind Farm Converter Station, as well as to analyze their impact on project cost. The analysis was conducted using the CPM and PERT methods based on the precedence relationships among project activities. The results show that the CPM method produced a project duration of 367 working days with a critical path consisting of activities ID 3–4–8–13–18–23–27, while the PERT method resulted in an Expected Project Duration of 372.67 working days. Probability analysis indicated project completion probabilities of 0.22% for a target duration of 367 working days, 76.73% for 378 working days, 92.22% for 383 working days, and 98.21% for 388 working days. The total project cost estimated using the CPM method was IDR 73,325,443,198.55, whereas the PERT method resulted in a total cost of IDR 73,599,793,880.36, representing a difference of 0.37%. Based on these findings, the CPM method is more efficient in terms of project duration and cost, while the PERT method provides a more realistic duration estimate by accounting for uncertainty in activity durations.
