Abstract

Sistem distribusi bahan bakar minyak (BBM) memerlukan pengendalian tekanan yang stabil untuk menjaga kontinuitas aliran, meningkatkan efisiensi operasi, dan mendukung keandalan proses distribusi. Pengoperasian booster pump dengan metode fixed speed berpotensi menyebabkan pressure drop, konsumsi energi yang kurang efisien, serta peningkatan beban mekanis pada pompa dan motor ketika terjadi perubahan kebutuhan debit. Sehingga, kegiatan magang ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem kontrol tekanan booster pump berbasis PID Control pada sistem distribusi BBM di Pertamina Patra Niaga Integrated Terminal Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan meliputi identifikasi kondisi operasional sistem, studi literatur, serta penyusunan konsep integrasi pressure transmitter, programmable logic controller (PLC), dan variable speed drive (VSD) dalam sistem closed-loop control. Hasil perancangan dituangkan dalam bentuk Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), wiring diagram, ladder diagram menggunakan EcoStruxure Machine Expert, serta rancangan desain Human Machine Interface (HMI) sebagai antarmuka operator. Rancangan yang dihasilkan diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam pengembangan sistem kontrol tekanan booster pump yang lebih adaptif, efisien, dan andal, serta mendukung penerapan otomasi pada sistem distribusi BBM di Integrated Terminal Surabaya.

The fuel oil (BBM) distribution system requires stable pressure control to maintain flow continuity, improve operational efficiency, and support the reliability of the distribution process. The operation of a booster pump using the fixed speed method has the potential to cause pressure drop, inefficient energy consumption, and increased mechanical load on the pump and motor when changes in flow rate demand occur. Therefore, this internship aimed to design a PID based booster pump pressure control system for the fuel oil (BBM) distribution system at Pertamina Patra Niaga Integrated Terminal Surabaya. The methods employed included the identification of the system's operational conditions, a literature review, and the development of an integration concept involving a pressure transmitter, programmable logic controller (PLC), and variable speed drive (VSD) within a closed-loop control system. The design results were presented in the form of a Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), wiring diagram, ladder diagram developed using EcoStruxure Machine Expert, and a Human Machine Interface (HMI) design as the operator interface. The proposed design is expected to serve as a reference for the development of a more adaptive, efficient, and reliable booster pump pressure control system, while also supporting the implementation of automation in the fuel oil (BBM) distribution system at Integrated Terminal Surabaya.
