Abstract
Subsistem pulverizer merupakan bagian penting dalam pembangkit listrik tenaga uap (PLTU) karena berfungsi menghaluskan batu bara menjadi serbuk sebelum dibakar di dalam boiler, sehingga kerusakan pada bagian ini dapat langsung mengganggu produksi listrik. Perawatan pada subsistem ini di PLTU masih dilakukan berdasarkan jadwal tetap atau setelah kerusakan terjadi, tanpa mempertimbangkan tingkat kepentingan dan pola kegagalan setiap komponen secara khusus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang strategi perawatan yang lebih tepat sasaran menggunakan metode Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM). Analisis dilakukan dengan memetakan fungsi setiap komponen, mengidentifikasi jenis dan dampak kegagalan melalui Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), menentukan tingkat kekritisan kegagalan melalui Logic Tree Analysis (LTA), memilih tindakan perawatan yang paling sesuai untuk setiap komponen, serta menghitung interval waktu perawatan berdasarkan pola kegagalan yang diperoleh dari analisis statistik data historis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 362 jenis kegagalan yang teridentifikasi pada 37 komponen, coal pulverizer memiliki jumlah kegagalan terbanyak, yaitu 163 jenis kegagalan. Sebanyak 198 dari 206 tindakan perawatan yang direkomendasikan berupa pemeriksaan kondisi secara berkala, sedangkan hanya 1 tindakan berupa penggantian berjadwal dan 4 tindakan berupa pengujian fungsi berkala. Ditemukan pula bahwa dua dari tiga bagian utama subsistem ini belum memiliki kegiatan pemeriksaan kondisi secara rutin dalam praktik perawatan yang berjalan saat ini. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai acuan bagi perusahaan dalam menyusun jadwal dan jenis perawatan yang lebih sesuai dengan karakteristik kegagalan setiap komponen, sehingga kerusakan mendadak dapat ditekan dan keandalan operasi pembangkit dapat lebih terjaga.

The pulverizer sub-system is a critical part of a coal-fired power plant, as it grinds coal into fine powder before combustion in the boiler, meaning any failure in this system can directly disrupt electricity production. Maintenance of this sub-system at PLTU has generally been carried out on a fixed schedule or only after a failure occurs, without specifically considering how critical each component is or its actual failure pattern. This study aims to design a more targeted maintenance strategy using the Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) method. The analysis was carried out by mapping the function of each component, identifying failure types and their effects through Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), determining the criticality level of each failure through Logic Tree Analysis (LTA), selecting the most suitable maintenance action for each component, and calculating maintenance intervals based on failure patterns obtained from statistical analysis of historical data. The results show that out of 362 identified failure modes across 37 components, coal pulverizer had the highest number of failures, with 163 failure modes. Of the 206 recommended maintenance tasks, 198 were condition-based inspections, while only 1 was a time-based replacement and 4 were periodic function tests. The study also found that two of the three main parts of this sub-system currently lack any routine condition-monitoring activities in existing maintenance practice. These findings can serve as a reference for the company in designing maintenance schedules and actions that better match the actual failure characteristics of each component, thereby reducing unexpected breakdowns and improving the reliability of power plant operations.
