Abstract

Construction is one of the highest contributors to occupational accidents in Indonesia, partly due to negligence in using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working at heights. Although Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) training is crucial, conventional methods are often constrained by limited facilities, high operational costs, and safety risks during direct simulations. Therefore, this Final Project research aims to design an OSH high-altitude construction training medium based on Mixed Reality (MR) technology and haptic feedback integrated with fall protection equipment to enhance understanding, compliance, and build workers' muscle memory. The design method used is the Design Thinking approach, which includes the empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing stages. This research also integrates Fundamental Principal Design Theory and Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) to formulate aspects of immersive simulation design. Through collaboration with industry partners, this research has successfully developed a concept and prototype for an immersive training system that is safe, interactive, and effective in minimizing real-world workplace accident risks.
