Abstract

The rise of mental health issues in Indonesia is in line with the high prevalence of burnout among workers, especially female zillennial employees who are at higher risk of experiencing burnout. Burnout is a prolonged response to chronic work stress and lead to symptoms such as physical, mental, and emotional fatigue, such as headache, difficulty concentrating, reduced work motivation, and work detachment. Sensory stimulation plays a significant role in shaping emotional responses, especially within product interactions. Sensory combination has the potential to increase positive emotion and overcome burnout-related fatigue. This design aims to develop a wearable product that can assist in alleviating burnout symptoms at work, and to develop glasses design concept with multisensory integration that is suitable for female zillennial employees who work in fields related to cognitive and emotional (health, education, services, data science, and creative). The product was developed using human centered approach through interviews, surveys, and observations involving female zillennial employees. This process led to a design concept by the keywords serene, feminine, and practical. These keywords were further developed into glasses features aimed at supporting burnout relief through easy and quick mechanisms, including a sliding mechanism for aromatherapy cartridge and an easily accessible tactile accessory that also serves as a temple massage medium. The use of brown, black, and maroon colors, flowy and rounding shape like flower, represented feminine concept, align with the zilennial women preferences. Usability testing was conducted using concious and unconscious method, EEG (electroencephalography) and interview. Usability testing using interview method explored users perceptions of the product, resulting that the product could give support and better feeling in managing burnout in the workplace. It also gives flexibility to be used during work. However, the usability testing using EEG did not achieved optimum results due to insufficient control over the subject and the environment.
