Abstract

Recovery footwear is a type of footwear specifically designed to support muscle recovery after intense physical activity, such as long-distance running or marathons. This study addresses the issue of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) in runners, which hinders daily activities and muscle performance recovery. The objective of this research is to design ergonomic and adaptive recovery footwear by integrating pressure mapping and 3D printing using lattice structure technology. The design model is developed based on individual plantar pressure data and translated into personalized sole structures through additive manufacturing methods. The design results demonstrate that this approach can produce a product that not only supports the muscle recovery process but also provides aesthetic value and ease of use within an urban lifestyle context.
