Abstract

Keterbatasan lahan dan meningkatnya kebutuhan layanan kesehatan mendorong rencana penambahan lantai pada bangunan Rumah Sakit Hermina Salatiga yang telah berdiri. Penambahan lantai berpotensi meningkatkan beban gravitasi maupun beban gempa yang harus dipikul oleh struktur eksisting, sehingga diperlukan evaluasi menyeluruh terhadap kapasitas struktur sebelum rencana tersebut dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kelayakan struktur gedung rumah sakit beton bertulang lima lantai terhadap rencana penambahan satu hingga dua lantai, serta merencanakan perkuatan elemen struktur yang diperlukan menggunakan sistem bracing konsentris dan Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). Metode penelitian dilakukan melalui pemodelan struktur eksisting, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan simulasi bertahap (trial) penambahan satu dan dua lantai untuk meninjau kapasitas pondasi serta kontrol dinamis bangunan pada tiap skema. Hasil trial menunjukkan bahwa simpangan dan pengaruh p-delta tidak lagi memenuhi syarat apabila jumlah lantai ditambah, sehingga rencana penambahan lantai tidak direkomendasikan untuk dilaksanakan dan evaluasi selanjutnya difokuskan pada struktur eksisting lima lantai tanpa penambahan lantai. Hasil evaluasi pada struktur eksisting menunjukkan bahwa sejumlah elemen kolom dan balok tidak memenuhi kapasitas aksial, lentur, dan geser terhadap kombinasi beban gempa, sehingga direncanakan perkuatan menggunakan sistem bracing konsentris profil baja Circular Hollow Section (CHS) serta CFRP. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pemasangan bracing berhasil menurunkan periode getar struktur dan memperbaiki simpangan antar tingkat hingga memenuhi persyaratan yang berlaku, sedangkan perkuatan CFRP diperlukan pada elemen balok dan kolom tertentu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan kapasitas lentur dan geser yang masih kurang.

Limited land availability and the increasing demand for healthcare services have prompted a plan to add additional stories to the existing Hermina Hospital building in Salatiga. The proposed vertical extension may increase both the gravity and seismic loads imposed on the existing structure; therefore, a comprehensive evaluation of its structural capacity is required before the plan can be implemented. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of adding one to two stories to the existing five-story reinforced concrete hospital building and to design the necessary strengthening measures using a concentrically braced system and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP). The research was conducted by developing a structural model of the existing building, followed by staged simulations involving the addition of one and two stories to assess the foundation capacity and the dynamic performance of the building under each scenario. The trial results indicated that the structural drift and P–Delta effects no longer satisfied the applicable requirements following the addition of stories. Consequently, the vertical extension was not recommended, and the subsequent evaluation was focused on the existing five-story structure without additional stories. The evaluation of the existing structure revealed that several column and beam elements did not have sufficient axial, flexural, and shear capacities under seismic load combinations. Therefore, structural strengthening was designed using a concentrically braced system with Circular Hollow Section (CHS) steel profiles and CFRP. The analysis results demonstrated that the installation of the bracing system successfully reduced the fundamental period of the structure and improved the interstory drift to satisfy the applicable requirements. Meanwhile, CFRP strengthening was required for several beam and column elements to address the remaining deficiencies in flexural and shear capacities.
