Abstract

Penelitian ini diarahkan pada perancangan clutch bag sebagai bagian dari seasonal collection berbasis momentum Idul Fitri dengan studi kasus pada brand lokal Rounn. Latar belakang perancangan berangkat dari belum optimalnya pengembangan lini clutch Rounn pasca-2019 serta belum adanya koleksi musiman yang secara konseptual merespons momentum budaya di Indonesia. Idul Fitri diposisikan sebagai cultural season dengan potensi konsumsi tinggi yang relevan dalam pengembangan produk fashion berbasis leather goods. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods yang menggabungkan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif, yang diolah dalam proses perancangan berbasis design thinking meliputi tahapan empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Kebaruan perancangan ini terletak pada penerapan aksentuasi kerawangan berbasis Islamic Geometric Pattern (IGP) pada permukaan clutch sebagai integrasi nilai simbolik Idul Fitri ke dalam detail visual produk secara kontekstual dan selaras dengan estetika understated luxury Rounn. Pendekatan ini diwujudkan melalui pengolahan material kulit yang memungkinkan terbentuknya pola berlubang secara presisi. Hasil perancangan menghasilkan konsep clutch bag yang menggabungkan aspek fungsional, estetika, dan simbolik dalam kerangka seasonal collection berbasis cultural season, serta menunjukkan potensi integrasi konteks budaya Indonesia dalam pengembangan desain leather goods.

This study focuses on the design of a clutch bag as part of an Eid al-Fitr seasonal collection, using the local brand Rounn as a case study. The background of this design project stems from the underdeveloped clutch line of Rounn post-2019, as well as the absence of a seasonal collection that conceptually responds to cultural moments in Indonesia. Eid al-Fitr is positioned as a cultural season with high consumption potential, making it relevant for the development of leather goods-based fashion products. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data, which are further processed within a design thinking framework consisting of the empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test stages. The novelty of this design lies in the application of openwork accentuation based on Islamic Geometric Patterns (IGP) on the surface of the clutch, serving as a contextual integration of Eid al-Fitr’s symbolic values into the product’s visual details while aligning with Rounn’s understated luxury aesthetic. This approach is realized through the treatment of leather material, enabling the formation of precise perforated patterns. The final design results in a clutch bag concept that integrates functional, aesthetic, and symbolic aspects within a seasonal collection framework based on a cultural season. This design demonstrates the potential of integrating Indonesian cultural context into the development of leather goods.
