Abstract

SCADA plays a crucial role in supporting real-time monitoring and control of IPAM processes. At the IPAM KP 3 facility of PDAM Surya Sembada in Surabaya, the existing SCADA system uses WebAccess/SCADA software that employs a tag-count-based licensing model. Therefore, as part of this internship, an alternative SCADA system was designed using LabVIEW to monitor and control the water treatment process from the flash mixer to the clarifier. The system design included the preparation of P&IDs, HMI development, implementation of data acquisition, control, and alarm logic, as well as testing of Modbus TCP/IP communication. Actual data acquisition was performed using a single power meter, while water quality parameters and pump operational parameters were represented using simulated data. The developed system is capable of displaying voltage, current, power, PF, pH, turbidity, and level parameters, as well as providing control and alarm functions on the HMI. Test results show that Modbus TCP/IP communication was successfully implemented and that all monitoring, control, and alarm functions operate as designed. In addition, the placement of pH, turbidity, and level instruments on the P&ID is proposed as a means of enhancing real-time water quality monitoring.
