Abstract
Boiler merupakan unit vital pada industri gula yang berfungsi menghasilkan uap sebagai sumber energi utama untuk menunjang proses produksi. Keandalan operasi boiler dipengaruhi oleh kestabilan parameter proses, seperti drum level, steam flow, water flow, dan temperature steam. Di PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara Pabrik Gula Tjoekir, penerapan sistem Human Machine Interface (HMI) memungkinkan akuisisi data operasional secara real-time dan penyimpanan data historis, namun pemanfaatan data tersebut untuk mengevaluasi performa boiler masih belum dilakukan secara optimal. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan magang ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi performa Boiler Cheng Chen berdasarkan data akuisisi HMI guna memperoleh gambaran kondisi operasional boiler secara kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur, observasi lapangan, pengambilan data historis dari sistem HMI, pengolahan data, serta analisis performa berdasarkan karakteristik tren, kestabilan operasi, dan hubungan antarparameter proses. Data yang dianalisis terdiri atas empat parameter utama, yaitu drum level, steam flow, water flow, dan temperature steam, yang direkam secara kontinu selama periode operasi boiler. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa steam flow dan temperature steam memiliki karakteristik perubahan yang relatif stabil dan terkendali, sedangkan drum level dan water flow memperlihatkan fluktuasi yang lebih tinggi selama periode pengamatan. Analisis korelasi mengindikasikan bahwa hubungan antarparameter proses memiliki tingkat keterkaitan yang berbeda sehingga perubahan pada satu parameter tidak selalu diikuti perubahan yang proporsional pada parameter lainnya. Meskipun ditemukan variasi yang cukup besar pada drum level dan water flow, tidak terdapat indikasi penurunan kondisi operasi yang membahayakan, sehingga Boiler Cheng Chen masih mampu mempertahankan kontinuitas operasi dan memenuhi kebutuhan uap proses selama periode pengamatan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar bagi perusahaan dalam melakukan evaluasi performa boiler berbasis data serta mendukung upaya peningkatan keandalan dan efisiensi sistem pembangkit uap di PT. Sinergi Gula Nusantara Pabrik Gula Tjoekir.

Boilers are critical units in the sugar industry that generate steam as the primary energy source to support production processes. The reliability of boiler operation is highly dependent on the stability of process parameters, including drum level, steam flow, water flow, and steam temperature. At PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara, Tjoekir Sugar Factory, the implementation of a Human Machine Interface (HMI) system enables real-time operational data acquisition and historical data storage. However, the utilization of these data to evaluate boiler performance has not yet been optimized. Therefore, this internship aimed to evaluate the performance of the Cheng Chen boiler based on HMI-acquired data to obtain a quantitative assessment of its operational condition. The methodology employed in this study included literature review, field observation, historical data collection from the HMI system, data processing, and performance evaluation based on trend characteristics, operational stability, and the relationships among process parameters. The analyzed data consisted of four main process variables: drum level, steam flow, water flow, and steam temperature, which were continuously recorded throughout the boiler operating period. The evaluation results indicate that steam flow and steam temperature exhibited relatively stable and well-controlled characteristics, whereas drum level and water flow showed higher fluctuations during the observation period. Correlation analysis revealed varying degrees of relationships among the process parameters, indicating that changes in one parameter were not always followed by proportional changes in the others. Although considerable variations were observed in drum level and water flow, no indication of hazardous operating conditions was identified. Therefore, the Cheng Chen boiler was able to maintain continuous operation and meet the steam demand throughout the observation period. The findings of this study are expected to provide a data-driven basis for boiler performance evaluation and support efforts to improve the reliability and efficiency of the steam generation system at PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara, Tjoekir Sugar Factory.
