Abstract

Weigh feeder merupakan peralatan yang berfungsi mengatur dan mengukur feed rate material secara kontinu pada proses produksi pupuk NPK. Kinerja weigh feeder dipengaruhi oleh parameter belt speed yang digunakan bersama belt load dalam perhitungan feed rate, sehingga perubahan belt speed dapat memengaruhi performa sistem. Laporan ini membahas analisis parameter *belt speed* pada sistem weigh feeder Unit NPK I PT Petrokimia Gresik melalui pengujian akurasi sensor belt speed serta evaluasi pengaruh belt speed terhadap performa sistem. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan data operasi selama periode pengamatan dan pengujian sensor belt speed menggunakan tachometer sebagai alat ukur pembanding. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sensor belt speed memiliki tingkat akurasi sebesar 98,236% dengan nilai error rata-rata sebesar 1,674%, sehingga mampu memberikan pembacaan kecepatan belt dengan tingkat akurasi yang baik. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa perubahan belt speed berkaitan dengan kondisi operasi sistem. Pada saat terjadi penurunan suplai material dari hopper, belt load mengalami penurunan sehingga actual feed rate tidak dapat dipertahankan sesuai setpoint. Kondisi tersebut mendorong sistem meningkatkan belt speed sebagai respons untuk mengompensasi penurunan belt load, namun peningkatan tersebut belum mampu mempertahankan actual feed rate agar tetap sesuai setpoint. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, parameter belt speed berpengaruh terhadap performa sistem weigh feeder dan dapat digunakan sebagai indikator kondisi operasi sistem.

The weigh feeder is equipment used to continuously regulate and measure the material feed rate in the NPK fertilizer production process. The performance of the weigh feeder is influenced by the belt speed parameter, which is used together with belt load in the feed rate calculation. Therefore, variations in belt speed can affect the overall system performance. This report discusses the analysis of the belt speed parameter in the weigh feeder system of NPK I Unit, PT Petrokimia Gresik through belt speed sensor accuracy testing and an evaluation of the effect of belt speed on system performance. The analysis was conducted based on operational data collected during the observation period, while the belt speed sensor was tested using a tachometer as the reference measuring instrument. The test results showed that the belt speed sensor achieved an accuracy of 98.236% with an average error of 1.674%, indicating that it is capable of measuring belt speed with a high level of accuracy. The evaluation results demonstrated that variations in belt speed were associated with the operating conditions of the system. When the material supply from the hopper decreased, the belt load also decreased, causing the actual feed rate to deviate from the setpoint. Under this condition, the system increased the belt speed in an attempt to compensate for the reduced belt load. However, this increase was not sufficient to maintain the actual feed rate at the desired setpoint. Based on the analysis, the belt speed parameter significantly affects the performance of the weigh feeder system and can be used as an indicator of the system's operating condition.
