Abstract

A load cell is the primary sensor in a dozometer system that measures material load to calculate belt load and feed rate. This study aims to analyze load cell performance based on its measurement characteristics, as well as the effect of belt load on feed rate in the dozometer system at PT Petrokimia Gresik’s NPK Unit. The study used historical data obtained through EasyServe software during both normal operation and plant startup. The measurement characteristics were analyzed using the range and standard deviation parameters, while the relationship between belt load and feed rate was analyzed using linear regression. The results show that under running conditions, the load cell has a range of 0.181 mV/V and a standard deviation of 0.016 mV/V, whereas under plant start-up conditions, these values increase to 0.339 mV/V and 0.099 mV/V due to changes in material load during the transition process. The relationship between belt load and feed rate showed a positive linear correlation with an R² value of 0.2907 under running conditions and 0.9234 under plant start-up conditions. The results of the study indicate that the load cell still performs well and is capable of producing consistent readings in the dosometer system.
