Abstract
Penggunaan teknologi membran pada proses pemisahan air-minyak masih
memiliki kendala terutama pada nilai fluks yang dihasilkan. Membran
PVDF/PEG400-TiO2 dapat digunakan pada proses pemisahan air-minyak.
Penambahan aditif PEG400 diharapkan dapat memperbesar ukuran pori membran
sehingga mampu meningkatkan nilai fluks yang dihasilkan dan menjaga besarnya
koefisien rejeksi. Hasil penelitian untuk variasi konsentrasi PEG400 0, 1, 2, 3, dan
4 gram menunjukkan bahwa membran dengan kinerja optimal pada membran
PVDF/PEG400-TiO2 konsentrasi PEG400 2 gram. Kinerjanya menghasilkan nilai
fluks air murni sebesar 71,94 L/m2.jam; nilai fluks larutan miyak-air 67,52 L/m2
jam; koefisien rejeksi 96,99%; dan aktivitas fotokatalitik 99,2% dengan
konsentrasi minyak-air 90 ppm. Selain itu, kinerja optimal ini didasarkan pada
karakterisasi uji sudut kontak 66,92o; tegangan 2,24 MPa dan regangan 42,11%,
penurunan stabilitas termal, porositas 78,86%, dan ukuran pori membran 2,286
μm. Interaksi pada membran terjadi secara fisik yang dibuktikan dengan uji XRD
dan uji FT-IR. Membran konsentrasi PEG400 2 gram diaplikasikan pada variasi
konsentrasi limbah sintetik air-minyak. Kinerja fluks yang dihasilkan yaitu 66,12
L/m2.jam; 62,16 L/m2.jam; 59,66 L/m2.jam dan koefisien rejeksi 97,24%; 97,86%;
98,22% dengan konsentrasi minyak-air berturut-turut 90 ppm, 125 ppm dan 160
ppm. Peningkatan nilai fluks dan penurunan koefisien rejeksi terjadi seiring
dengan peningkatan konsentrasi limbah sintetik air-minyak yang digunakan.

The use of membrane technology in water-oil separation process still has
disadvantages mainly on the value of the resulting flux. Membrane
PVDF/PEG400-TiO2 can be used in water-oil separation process. The addition of
PEG400 additive is expected to enlarge the pore size of the membrane so as to
increase the value of flux produced and maintain the rejection. Results on variants
of PEG400 concentration, indicated that membrane with 2 gram PEG400 show
the best performance in term of pure water flux (71,94 L/m2.h), flux of oil-water
(67,52 L/m2.h), rejection coefficient (96,99%) and photocatalytic activity (99,2%)
as oil-water concentratio of 90 ppm. In addition, optimal performance based on
the characterization of the contact angle test 66,92o; stress of 2,24 Mpa, strain
42,11%, decreased in thermal stability, 78,86% porosity and pore size of the
membrane 2,286 μm. The interaction of the membrane occurs physically as
proved by XRD and FT-IR. PEG400 concentration of 2 grams membrane applied
to various concentrations of synthetic oily wastewater. The resulting flux
performance were 66,12 L/m2.h; 62,16 L/m2.h; 59,66 L/m2.h and rejection
coefficient 97,24%; 97,86%; 98,22% with the oil-water concentration of 90 ppm,
125 ppm and 160 ppm respectively. The increasing of flux and decreasing of
rejection coefficient proportional to the increasing concentrations of oily
wastewater synthetic used.
