Abstract

Kecelakaan lalu lintas dan insiden trauma fisik masih menjadi penyebab utama kematian dan disabilitas di Indonesia. Kondisi tersebut sering kali diperburuk oleh rendahnya kesiapan masyarakat awam dalam memberikan pertolongan pertama yang cepat dan tepat sebelum bantuan medis profesional tiba. Metode pelatihan konvensional seringkali memiliki keterbatasan dalam hal skalabilitas. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan serious game simulasi edukasi berbasis keputusan untuk pelatihan pertolongan pertama serta mengevaluasi efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan kognitif dan kesiapan fisiologis. Prototipe Golden Hour dikembangkan menggunakan Unity Engine melalui proses pengembangan iteratif dan mencakup tiga skenario keadaan darurat terkait trauma yang disusun berdasarkan pedoman Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) dan World Health Organization (WHO). Evaluasi efektivitas dilakukan menggunakan desain eksperimen pretest–intervensi–post-test yang melibatkan 46 partisipan yang dibagi ke dalam kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol. Hasil kognitif dan fisiologis dievaluasi melalui pengujian berbasis Virtual Reality (VR) dan pemantauan denyut jantung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa serious game yang dikembangkan secara signifikan meningkatkan pengetahuan pertolongan pertama partisipan (p < 0.001). Kelompok intervensi memperoleh peningkatan skor rata-rata sebesar 63.48 poin, dibandingkan dengan 33.04 poin pada kelompok kontrol, yang menunjukkan efek edukasi yang sangat besar (RBC = -0.728). Namun, tidak ditemukan perbedaan yang signifikan pada respons fisiologis antar kelompok selama post-test berbasis VR (p = 0.816). Tingkat penerimaan pengguna juga sangat positif, dengan 98.75% partisipan melaporkan peningkatan motivasi belajar. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa serious game yang dikembangkan merupakan media edukasi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pertolongan pertama pada masyarakat awam dan memiliki potensi yang kuat untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi situasi darurat.

Traffic accidents and other physical trauma incidents remain leading causes of mortality and disability in Indonesia. These outcomes are often worsened by the limited readiness of laypeople to provide timely and appropriate first aid before professional medical assistance arrives. Conventional training methods often face scalability challenges. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a decision-based educational simulation serious game for first-aid training and evaluate its effectiveness in improving cognitive knowledge and physiological readiness. The Golden Hour prototype was developed using the Unity Engine through an iterative development process and included three trauma-related emergency scenarios based on Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. Effectiveness was evaluated using a pretest–intervention–posttest experimental design involving 46 participants divided into intervention and control groups. Cognitive and physiological outcomes were assessed through VR-based testing and heart-rate monitoring. The results showed that the serious game significantly improved participants’ first-aid knowledge (p < 0.001). The intervention group achieved an average score increase of 63.48 points compared to 33.04 points in the control group, indicating a very large educational effect (RBC = -0.728). No significant difference in physiological responses was observed between groups during the VR-based post-test (p = 0.816). User acceptance was highly positive, with 98.75% of participants reporting increased learning motivation. In conclusion, the developed serious game is an effective educational tool for improving first-aid knowledge among laypeople and demonstrates strong potential for increasing preparedness in emergency situations.
