Abstract

The continuously increasing demand for electrical energy in the industrial sector makes electricity costs one of the main components in a company's operational costs. To reduce dependence on the electricity supply from PLN (the State Electricity Company) while simultaneously supporting the use of clean energy, the utilization of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) serves as an applicable alternative. This research was conducted at PT Synergy Oil Nusantara to analyze the technical and economic feasibility of a PLTS system and to determine the potential electrical energy generated. The methods used include the collection of geographical data, area potential, and solar irradiation from the Global Solar Atlas, which were then simulated using Pvsol to determine the PLTS capacity and evaluate the system's technical and economic feasibility. The results indicate that the effective roof area that can be utilized is 1.860m^2of the total roof area which 2.748m^2. Within this area, 720 solar modules can be installed with a capacity of 396 kWp, capable of generating 523,737,11 kWh of energy per year. Based on the technical evaluation, a performance ratio of 80,65% was obtained from the PVsol simulation and 79,8% from manual calculations, indicating that the system meets the technical feasibility criteria. From an economic perspective, the required initial investment is Rp 3,663,415,481, yielding a positive Net Present Value (NPV) and Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR). Furthermore, the payback period was found to be 6 years and 6 months based on manual calculations, and 6 years and 5 months based on the Pvsol simulation. These results demonstrate that the rooftop PLTS planning at PT Synergy Oil Nusantara is feasible to implement from both technical and economic aspects.
