Abstract
Ketersediaan Ketersediaan air minum yang aman masih menjadi tantangan di berbagai wilayah Indonesia, meskipun teknologi pemurnian seperti Reverse Osmosis (RO) telah banyak digunakan. Namun, sebagian besar sistem tersebut belum dilengkapi dengan pemantauan kualitas air secara real-time, sehingga pengguna tidak mengetahui kondisi filter maupun kelayakan air yang dikonsumsi. Penelitian ini merancang dan membangun sistem water purification berbasis RO yang dilengkapi sensor pH, TDS, dan turbidity serta indikator perawatan filter otomatis. Sistem dikendalikan mikrokontroler ESP32 yang terhubung dengan Firebase untuk menyimpan data. Metode pemurnian menggunakan filtrasi berlapis dengan tahapan sediment filter, granular activated carbon, carbon block, membran RO, post-carbon filter, dan UV filter. Sistem kontrol on-off diterapkan pada solenoid valve untuk mengatur ketinggian air dalam tangki berdasarkan pembacaan sensor ultrasonik HC-SR04 dengan set point 3 cm. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sensor pH memiliki akurasi 97,81%, sensor TDS 97,39%, dan sensor turbidity 97,39%. Validasi laboratorium membuktikan sistem mampu menurunkan TDS dari 376 ppm menjadi 261 ppm, turbidity dari 5,12 NTU menjadi 1,72 NTU, dan menjaga pH pada rentang 6-7. Indikator maintenance filter bekerja efektif dengan memberikan notifikasi "FILTER DIGANTI SEGERA" ketika parameter kualitas air berada di luar standar Permenkes RI No. 2 Tahun 2023. Pengambilan data selama 24 jam menunjukkan pembacaan sensor yang stabil dengan pH 6,9-7,5, TDS 160-240 ppm, dan turbidity 1,2-1,8 NTU. Dengan demikian, sistem ini berpotensi meningkatkan keamanan kesehatan, mengurangi risiko konsumsi air tidak layak, dan mempermudah perawatan alat pemurnian air rumah tangga.

Access Availability The availability of safe drinking water remains a challenge in many regions of Indonesia, even though purification technologies such as Reverse Osmosis (RO) are widely used. However, most of these systems are not equipped with real-time water quality monitoring, so users do not know the condition of the filters or the suitability of the water they consume. This study designed and built an RO-based water purification system equipped with pH, TDS, and turbidity sensors as well as an automatic filter maintenance indicator. The system is controlled by an ESP32 microcontroller connected to Firebase to store data. The purification method uses multi-layer filtration with sediment filter, granular activated carbon, carbon block, RO membrane, post-carbon filter, and UV filter stages. An on-off control system is applied to the solenoid valve to regulate the water level in the tank based on the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor reading with a set point of 3 cm. The test results show that the pH sensor has an accuracy of 97.81%, the TDS sensor 97.39%, and the turbidity sensor 97.39%. Laboratory validation proves that the system is capable of reducing TDS from 376 ppm to 261 ppm, turbidity from
5.12 NTU to 1.72 NTU, and maintaining pH in the range of 6-7. The filter maintenance indicator works effectively by providing a “FILTER REPLACED IMMEDIATELY” notification when water quality parameters are outside the standards of Indonesian Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. Data collection over 24 hours showed stable sensor readings with pH 6.9-7.5, TDS 160-240 ppm, and turbidity 1.2-1.8 NTU. Thus, this system has the potential to improve health safety, reduce the risk of consuming unsafe water, and simplify the maintenance of household water purification equipment.
