Abstract

Lingkungan fisik sekolah merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam menunjang kenyamanan, kualitas pembelajaran, serta pembentukan perilaku siswa. Namun, kondisi eksisting di SMK Walisongo 2 Gempol menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan lingkungan fisik, termasuk zona tata ruang pada bangunan yang menampung jenjang pendidikan berbeda, belum optimal. Selain itu, ruang komunal seperti aula, perpustakaan, dan kantin belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal akibat desain interior yang kurang menarik, keterbatasan furnitur, serta kualitas ruang yang belum memadai. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan ruang belum mampu mendorong interaksi dan aktivitas kolaboratif siswa secara optimal. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang interior melalui pendekatan behavioral setting, dengan mengintegrasikan keselarasan antara aktivitas siswa, karakter pengguna, dan lingkungan fisik ruang. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, kuisioner, serta tahapan design thinking yang terdiri dari empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan konsep ruang yang fleksibel, interaktif, serta didukung pengaturan zonasi dan furnitur modular guna meningkatkan kenyamanan, fungsi ruang, serta mendorong interaksi dan kolaborasi siswa.

The physical environment of a school is an important factor in supporting comfort, learning quality, and the development of students’ behavior. However, the existing condition at SMK Walisongo 2 Gempol indicates that the management of the physical environment, including spatial zoning in buildings that accommodate different educational levels, has not been optimal. In addition, communal spaces such as the hall, library, and canteen have not been utilized effectively due to unappealing interior design, limited furniture, and inadequate spatial quality. These conditions result in spaces that are not yet able to optimally encourage interaction and collaborative activities among students. This design aims to redesign the interior through a behavioral setting approach by integrating harmony between student activities, user characteristics, and the physical environment of the space. The methods used include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and the design thinking stages consisting of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. This design is expected to produce a flexible and interactive spatial concept, supported by proper zoning arrangements and modular furniture, in order to improve comfort, spatial function, and to encourage student interaction and collaboration.
