Abstract

Mobilitas perkotaan berkelanjutan menempatkan aksesibilitas, keselamatan, dan kualitas hidup sebagai tujuan utama sistem mobilitas perkotaan. Dalam konteks kota menengah seperti Kota Kediri, kawasan pendidikan pada persimpangan Veteran–Penanggungan–Kawi menunjukkan konsentrasi pergerakan pelajar yang tinggi, ketergantungan pada kendaraan pribadi, keterbatasan infrastruktur pejalan kaki, serta kemacetan berulang pada jam sekolah. Kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya intervensi arsitektural yang dapat menampung kendaraan serta menata ulang hubungan antara ruang, perilaku pengguna, dan peralihan moda menuju mobilitas yang lebih aktif dan berkelanjutan.
Perancangan ini menggunakan pendekatan perilaku atau aktivitas manusia dengan kerangka perancangan berbasis force, di mana pergerakan dibaca sebagai force utama yang membentuk arah keputusan desain. Proses dilakukan melalui kajian literatur, observasi lapangan, studi preseden, dan analisis spasial berbasis Space Syntax untuk membaca integrasi, konektivitas, serta potensi titik intervensi pada kawasan. Pengembangan bentuk dilakukan dengan metode Design Research berbasis research-through-design yang menggabungkan tahap analitis, generatif, evaluatif, dan penyempurnaan secara iteratif.
Hasil perancangan berupa parkir terpadu sebagai ruang transisi mobilitas yang memutus perjalanan bermotor sebelum segmen akhir menuju sekolah dilanjutkan dengan berjalan kaki atau bersepeda. Rancangan ini menyusun sistem parkir, area drop-off, jalur pejalan kaki, jalur sepeda, dan fungsi pendukung ke dalam konfigurasi ruang yang lebih terbaca, aman, dan nyaman bagi pelajar. Secara akademis, perancangan ini menunjukkan integrasi mobilitas perkotaan berkelanjutan, pendekatan perilaku, dan Space Syntax dalam arsitektur; secara praktis, rancangan ini menghasilkan prototipe simpul transisi yang berpotensi diterapkan pada kawasan pendidikan di kota menengah dengan karakter serupa.

Sustainable Urban Mobility places accessibility, safety, and quality of life as the main objectives of urban mobility systems. In the context of a mid-sized city such as Kediri, the educational district at the Veteran–Penanggungan–Kawi intersection shows a high concentration of student movement, dependence on private vehicles, limited pedestrian infrastructure, and recurring congestion during school hours. This condition indicates the need for an architectural intervention that can accommodate vehicles while reorganizing the relationship between space, user behaviour, and modal transition toward more active and sustainable mobility.
This design employs a behavioural or human activity approach within a force-based framework, in which movement is understood as the main force shaping design decisions. The process is carried out through literature review, field observation, precedent study, and Space Syntax-based spatial analysis to examine integration, connectivity, and potential intervention points within the area. Form development is conducted through a Design Research method based on research-through-design, combining analytical, generative, evaluative, and iterative refinement stages.
The design result is a One-Spot Parking proposal as a mobility transition space that intercepts motorized travel before the final segment toward schools is continued on foot or by bicycle. The proposal organizes parking areas, drop-off areas, a pedestrian spine, bike paths, and supporting functions into a spatial configuration that is more legible, safer, and more comfortable for students. Academically, this design demonstrates the integration of Sustainable Urban Mobility, behavioural approaches, and Space Syntax in architecture; practically, it produces a transition-node prototype with the potential to be applied in educational areas of mid-sized cities with similar characteristics.
