Abstract
Beban kerja fisik dan kondisi lingkungan termal dapat memengaruhi respons fisiologis dan persepsi subjektif individu selama aktivitas. Namun, pengaruh karakteristik antropometri, khususnya Body Surface Area (BSA), serta suhu lingkungan terhadap respons tersebut belum banyak dianalisis secara terpadu dalam kondisi eksperimen yang terkontrol. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh BSA, Body Mass Index (BMI), dan suhu lingkungan terhadap beban kerja fisik dan respons termal, serta perbedaan respons pada suhu 19°C, 24°C, dan 29°C. Penelitian menggunakan desain within-subject dengan 31 responden laki-laki berusia 18–25 tahun yang melakukan aktivitas sepeda statis selama 15 menit pada beban 50 Watt (4,0 MET). Beban kerja diukur menggunakan persentase Cardiovascular Load (%CVL) dan Borg Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE), sedangkan respons termal diukur menggunakan ASHRAE Thermal Sensation Vote (TSV) dan ASHRAE Thermal Comfort Vote (TCV). Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi dan uji Friedman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa BSA berpengaruh signifikan secara negatif terhadap %CVL, sedangkan BMI tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap seluruh indikator. Suhu lingkungan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap %CVL, tetapi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Borg RPE, TSV, dan TCV. Secara simultan, BSA, BMI, dan suhu lingkungan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap seluruh variabel respons. Variasi suhu tidak menghasilkan perbedaan signifikan pada %CVL, tetapi menghasilkan perbedaan signifikan pada Borg RPE, TSV, dan TCV. Suhu 19°C menghasilkan persepsi beban kerja terendah dan kenyamanan termal tertinggi, sehingga menjadi kondisi paling optimal di antara skenario yang diuji untuk aktivitas fisik ringan selama 15 menit.

Physical workload and thermal environmental conditions can influence individuals’ physiological responses and subjective perceptions during activity. However, the influence of anthropometric characteristics, particularly Body Surface Area (BSA), and ambient temperature on these responses has rarely been analyzed simultaneously under controlled experimental conditions. This study aims to analyze the effects of BSA, Body Mass Index (BMI), and ambient temperature on physical workload and thermal responses, as well as differences in responses across temperatures of 19°C, 24°C, and 29°C. The study employed a within-subject design involving 31 male participants aged 18–25 years who performed stationary cycling for 15 minutes at a workload of 50 Watts (4.0 MET). Physical workload was assessed using percentage Cardiovascular Load (%CVL) and Borg Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE), while thermal responses were assessed using the ASHRAE Thermal Sensation Vote (TSV) and ASHRAE Thermal Comfort Vote (TCV). Data were analyzed using regression analysis and the Friedman test. The results showed that BSA had a significant negative effect on %CVL, while BMI had no significant effect on any of the measured indicators. Ambient temperature had no significant effect on %CVL but significantly affected Borg RPE, TSV, and TCV. Simultaneously, BSA, BMI, and ambient temperature significantly affected all response variables. Temperature variations did not produce significant differences in %CVL but resulted in significant differences in Borg RPE, TSV, and TCV. The 19°C condition produced the lowest perceived exertion and the highest thermal comfort, making it the most optimal condition among the tested scenarios for light physical activity performed for 15 minutes.
