Abstract

Garam merupakan salah satu kebutuhan pokok yang banyak dimanfaatkan pada sektor industri, pangan, pertanian, dan kesehatan. Namun, kualitas garam yang dihasilkan di Indonesia umumnya masih belum memenuhi standar yang diharapkan sehingga diperlukan proses pemurnian. Salah satu metode yang digunakan adalah hidroekstraksi, yaitu proses pencucian garam dengan memanfaatkan larutan garam jenuh sebagai media pencuci. Dalam proses tersebut, kecepatan putaran agitator dan level larutan garam merupakan variabel yang berperan penting dalam mendukung proses pemurnian garam. Oleh karena itu, pada penelitian ini dirancang dan dibangun sistem kontrol kecepatan putaran agitator dan level pada proses pemurnian garam menggunakan metode hidroekstraksi. Sistem menggunakan motor DC sebagai penggerak agitator, sensor ultrasonik HC-SR04 sebagai pengukur level larutan garam, serta metode kontrol on-off untuk pengendalian level berbasis mikrokontroler ESP32. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa aktuator motor DC mampu menghasilkan kecepatan putaran pada rentang 203,9 RPM hingga 5025 RPM berdasarkan variasi tegangan keluaran dimmer. Pengujian sensor HC-SR04 menghasilkan rata-rata error sebesar 0,38% dengan tingkat akurasi 99,62%, sehingga mampu mengukur level larutan garam secara andal. Selain itu, hasil pengujian sistem menunjukkan bahwa agitator mampu beroperasi pada rentang kecepatan 76,5 RPM hingga 495,9 RPM sesuai variasi masukan yang diberikan, sedangkan sistem level mampu merespons perubahan level sesuai parameter operasi yang telah ditentukan. Dengan demikian, sistem yang dirancang mampu mendukung proses pemurnian garam menggunakan metode hidroekstraksi.

Salt is one of the essential commodities widely utilized in the industrial, food, agricultural, and healthcare sectors. However, the quality of salt produced in Indonesia generally does not meet the required standards, making a purification process necessary. One of the purification methods employed is hydroextraction, which involves washing salt crystals using saturated brine as the washing medium. In this process, agitator rotational speed and brine level are important variables that support the salt purification process. Therefore, this study designed and developed a control system for agitator rotational speed and brine level in the salt purification process using the hydroextraction method. The system employs a DC motor as the agitator drive, an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor to measure the brine level, and an ESP32 microcontroller implementing an on-off control method for level regulation. The test results showed that the DC motor actuator was capable of producing rotational speeds ranging from 203.9 RPM to 5025 RPM based on variations in the dimmer output voltage. The HC-SR04 sensor achieved an average error of 0.38% with an accuracy of 99.62%, indicating reliable brine level measurement. Furthermore, the system testing demonstrated that the agitator operated within a rotational speed range of 76.5 RPM to 495.9 RPM according to the applied input variations, while the level control system responded effectively to changes in brine level in accordance with the predetermined operating parameters. Thus, the developed system is capable of supporting the salt purification process using the hydroextraction method.
