Abstract

Stasiun Kediri merupakan salah satu stasiun bersejarah di Jawa Timur yang berperan penting sebagai fasilitas transportasi publik sekaligus ikon budaya Kota Kediri. Seiring meningkatnya aktivitas dan jumlah pengguna, Stasiun Kediri menghadapi berbagai permasalahan, seperti kurang efisiennya sirkulasi, kebingungan terhadap signage, penurunan kualitas visual, beberapa fasilitas yang masih belum memadai, serta kurang kuatnya identitas lokal pada interior stasiun. Pendekatan desain yang digunakan adalah metode design thinking melalui observasi, wawancara, analisis aktivitas pengguna, dan penyebaran kuesioner. Penerapan intuitive wayfinding dilakukan melalui pengolahan tata ruang, pencahayaan, material, zoning, dan elemen visual sebagai navigasi alami bagi pengguna. Hasil redesain diharapkan mampu menciptakan interior stasiun yang lebih fungsional, nyaman, memiliki identitas lokal yang kuat, serta tetap mempertahankan nilai historis bangunan heritage.

Kediri Station is one of the historic railway stations in East Java that plays an important role as a public transportation facility as well as a cultural icon of Kediri City. Along with the increasing level of activity and number of users, Kediri Station faces several issues, such as inefficient circulation, confusion caused by signage, declining visual quality, inadequate facilities, and the lack of a strong local identity within the station interior. The design approach used in this project is the design thinking method through observation, interviews, user activity analysis, and questionnaire distribution. The implementation of intuitive wayfinding is carried out through the arrangement of spatial layout, lighting, materials, zoning, and visual elements as natural navigation aids for users. The redesign is expected to create a station interior that is more functional, comfortable, has a strong local identity, and continues to preserve the historical value of the heritage building.
