Abstract

Arsitektur institusi pengadilan secara historis beroperasi di bawah selubung bias harmoni modernis yang menutupi realitas opresifnya sebagai instrumen pendisiplinan. Segregasi spasial dan hierarki kaku pada Pengadilan Tinggi menciptakan tatanan yang membatasi transparansi dan mendikte kepatuhan pasif dari masyarakat sipil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meredefinisi tipologi bangunan hukum tersebut melalui metode riset melalui perancangan yang berlandaskan pada paradigma Architecture and Disjunction gagasan Bernard Tschumi. Dalam proses operasionalnya, tipologi pengadilan dibongkar menjadi fragmen independen berupa ruang, peristiwa, dan pergerakan. Tipologi teater kemudian didatangkan sebagai instrumen kritik keruangan yang berpusat pada nilai performativitas dan keterbukaan. Operasi konseptual berupa Transposisi, Jukstaposisi, dan Superimposisi dieksekusi secara iteratif melalui medium notasi gambar. Proses interpretasi terhadap gambar tersebut digunakan untuk membenturkan kedua tipologi dan membongkar relasi kuasa yang tersembunyi di dalamnya. Benturan metodologis ini menghasilkan kriteria perancangan yang memprovokasi terjadinya friksi programatik berupa crossprogramming, transprogramming, dan disprogramming. Rancangan akhir memanifestasikan kondisi disjungsi fisik yang menumbangkan hierarki tradisional, seperti peleburan area kedatangan, sirkulasi otoritas yang terpisah namun transparan, serta rekonfigurasi ruang sidang yang menempatkan observasi publik pada supremasi tertinggi. Institusi hukum pada akhirnya berhasil diredefinisi menjadi sebuah rakitan peristiwa yang dinamis, transparan, dan terbebas dari dogma fungsionalis konvensional.

The architecture of judicial institutions historically operates under the guise of modernist harmony, concealing its oppressive reality as a disciplinary apparatus. Spatial segregation and rigid hierarchies in the Court of Appeals create an order that restricts transparency and dictates passive obedience from civil society. This research aims to redefine the legal building typology through research through design method grounded in Bernard Tschumi's Architecture and Disjunction paradigm. In its operational process, the courthouse typology is dismantled into independent fragments of space, event, and movement. The theater typology is then introduced as an instrument of spatial critique centered on the values of performativity and openness. Conceptual operations consisting of Transposition, Juxtaposition, and Superimposition are executed iteratively through the medium of notational drawing. The interpretation process of these drawings is used to collide the two typologies and dismantle the power relations hidden within them. This methodological collision generates design criteria that provoke programmatic friction in the form of crossprogramming, transprogramming, and disprogramming. The final design manifests a condition of physical disjunction that subverts traditional hierarchies, such as the merging of arrival areas, authority circulation that is separated yet transparent, and the reconfiguration of the courtroom that places public observation at the highest supremacy. The legal institution is ultimately redefined as a dynamic, transparent assemblage of events, liberated from conventional functionalist dogmas.
