Abstract

Kadmium adalah logam beracun yang bersifat toksik dan
dapat membahayakan makhluk hidup serta ekosistem perairan.
Chlorella sp. memiliki kapasitas tinggi untuk mengikat logam
berat seperti kadmium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui kemampuan hidup Chlorella sp., daya resistensi di
media terpapar logam Cd, serta kemampuan bioakumulasi
terhadap logam Cd.
Tahap pertama pemeliharan kultur Chlorella sp. dengan
subkultur setiap 48 jam. Penentuan kurva pertumbuhan Chlorella
sp. dengan mengukur densitas (OD) menggunakan
spektrofotometer setiap 2 jam selama 24 jam. Selanjutnya Uji
resistensi logam Cd dilakukan dengan kisaran konsentrasi CdCl2
0 mg/L-50 mg/L selama 24,48, dan 72 jam. Uji bioakumulasi
logam Cd oleh Chlorella sp. berdasarkan hasil uji resistensi
(range finding test) yaitu 0, 5, 10, dan 15 mg/L Cd selama 24,48,
dan 72 jam dan pengukuran filtrat medium Cd menggunakan
analisis serapan atom (AAS). Data dianalisis secara deskriptif
kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Chlorella sp. resisten
terhadap logam berat Cd hingga konsentrasi 15 mg/L.
Bioakumulasi yang tertinggi adalah 0,51 mg/L.dw-1 pada
konsentrasi 4,96 mg/L CdCl2 dengan pemaparan 72 jam. Efisiensi
bioakumulasi logam Cd2+ yang tertinggi adalah 1,09 %.dw-1 pada
konsentrasi 10,24 mg/L dengan waktu pemaparan 48 jam.

Cadmium is a toxic metal that is toxic and can be harmful
to living organisms as well as aquatic ecosystems. Chlorella sp.
have a high capacity to bind heavy metals such as cadmium. This
study aims to determine the viability of Chlorella sp., Power
resistance Cd metal exposed in the media, as well as the ability of
the metals Cd bioaccumulation.
The first phase of maintenance culture of Chlorella sp. with
subculture every 48 hours. Determination of the growth curve of
Chlorella sp. by measuring the density (OD) using a
spectrophotometer every 2 hours for 24 hours. Furthermore, Cd
metal resistance test conducted with a range of concentrations of
CdCl2 0 mg/L-50 mg/L for 24.48, and 72 hours. Test Cd metal
bioaccumulation by Chlorella sp. based on the results of
resistance testing (range finding test) of 0, 5, 10, and 15 mg/L Cd
for 24.48, and 72 hours and measuring filtrate medium Cd using
atomic absorption analysis (AAS). Descriptif Data were analyzed
qualitatively.
These results indicate that Chlorella sp. resistant to heavy
metals Cd to a concentration of 15 mg/L. Bioaccumulation
highest concentration was 0.51 mg/L. dw-1 at 4.96 mg/L CdCl2
with 72 hours of exposure. The efficiency of metal
bioaccumulation highest Cd2+ was 1.09%. dw-1 at a concentration
of 10.24 mg/L with an exposure time of 48 hours.
