Abstract
Paradigma Form Follows Nature sering kali dipahami sebagai pendekatan yang berorientasi pada representasi visual bentuk alam, sehingga penerapan prinsip pertumbuhan biologis sebagai dasar pembentukan bentuk arsitektur belum banyak dieksplorasi. Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan merumuskan proses desain arsitektur yang mentranslasikan prinsip pertumbuhan biologis menjadi logika perancangan yang terstruktur. Perancangan menggunakan Teori Deszendenz Ernst Haeckel, metode Stilspiel Hermann Finsterlin, serta abstraksi siklus hidup Rhizostomeae melalui tiga fase, yaitu membaca pola alam, abstraksi menjadi prinsip arsitektur, dan transformasi formal. Pendekatan tersebut diimplementasikan pada perancangan sebuah Nature Experience Centre di lereng tebing Lombok Utara. Melalui pendekatan komputasional, fase-fase biologis Rhizostomeae diterjemahkan ke dalam sistem koordinat matematis dan archetype geometris tiga dimensi, kemudian disintesis melalui operasi jukstaposisi, superposisi, dan transposisi untuk membentuk gubahan massa organik yang menyatu dengan topografi tapak. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa prinsip pertumbuhan biologis dapat diterapkan sebagai dasar proses pembentukan bentuk arsitektur secara sistematis, sekaligus menghasilkan pengalaman ruang yang memfasilitasi rekoneksi manusia dengan alam melalui sekuens The Deceleration, Geometric Labyrinth, dan Release.

The Form Follows Nature paradigm is often understood as an approach centered on the visual representation of natural forms, while the application of biological growth principles as the basis for architectural form generation remains underexplored. This final project aims to formulate an architectural design process that translates biological growth principles into a structured design logic. The design methodology integrates Ernst Haeckel’s Theory of Deszendenz, Hermann Finsterlin’s Stilspiel method, and the abstraction of the Rhizostomeae life cycle through three phases: observing natural patterns, abstracting them into architectural principles, and transforming them into architectural forms. This approach is implemented in the design of a Nature Experience Centre located on the cliffside landscape of North Lombok. Through a computational approach, the biological phases of Rhizostomeae are translated into mathematical coordinate systems and three-dimensional geometric archetypes, which are subsequently synthesized through juxtaposition, superposition, and transposition operations to generate an organic massing integrated with the site's topography. The design demonstrates that biological growth principles can be systematically applied as the foundation of architectural form generation while creating a spatial experience that facilitates human reconnection with nature through the sequential journey of The Deceleration, Geometric Labyrinth, and Release.
