Abstract
Perkembangan teknologi telah mengubah cara masyarakat dalam memperoleh informasi serta membentuk ekspektasi baru terhadap fasilitas edukasi publik yang lebih interaktif dan imersif. Namun, kondisi eksisting Akuarium Kebun Binatang Surabaya masih menunjukkan penyajian ruang dan media informasi yang konvensional, statis, serta kurang menarik sehingga pengalaman dan nilai edukasi bagi pengunjung belum optimal. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan merancang redesain interior akuarium dengan pendekatan *Immersive Experience Design* guna meningkatkan kualitas pengalaman pengunjung. Metode yang digunakan adalah *Design Thinking* yang meliputi tahapan *empathize*, *define*, *ideate*, *prototype*, dan *test*, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Hasil perancangan menghasilkan konsep ruang yang lebih eksploratif melalui penerapan zonasi tematik (*thematic experience*), alur sirkulasi yang naratif, serta integrasi media interaktif seperti layar sentuh, visual animatif, dan elemen imersif yang mendukung penyampaian informasi secara lebih menarik. Dengan pendekatan ini, akuarium tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana rekreasi, tetapi juga sebagai ruang edukasi publik yang lebih atraktif, komunikatif, dan relevan dengan perkembangan pengalaman ruang berbasis interaksi.

The development of technology has transformed the way people access information and created new expectations for public educational facilities to provide more interactive and immersive experiences. However, the existing condition of the Aquarium at Surabaya Zoo still features conventional, static, and less engaging spatial arrangements and information media, resulting in suboptimal visitor experiences and educational value. Therefore, this study aims to redesign the aquarium interior using an *Immersive Experience Design* approach to enhance visitor experience. The study employs the *Design Thinking* methodology, consisting of the *empathize*, *define*, *ideate*, *prototype*, and *test* stages, with data collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The proposed design introduces a more explorative spatial concept through thematic zoning (*thematic experience*), a narrative circulation flow, and the integration of interactive media such as touchscreens, animated visuals, and immersive elements to deliver information in a more engaging manner. Through this approach, the aquarium is expected to function not only as a recreational facility but also as a more attractive, communicative, and relevant public educational space that aligns with the development of interactive spatial experiences.
