Abstract
Gudang in-transit berperan sebagai area penyimpanan sementara yang menghubungkan proses produksi dengan penyimpanan barang jadi. Peningkatan akumulasi work in process (WIP) menyebabkan tingkat okupansi gudang meningkat dan memicu terjadinya kondisi overload, sehingga diperlukan evaluasi terhadap kapasitas gudang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi kebutuhan kapasitas gudang in-transit melalui penerapan kebijakan operasional tanpa melakukan penambahan luas gudang. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah Discrete Event Simulation (DES) menggunakan perangkat lunak AnyLogic untuk merepresentasikan kondisi operasional gudang secara dinamis. Model simulasi dibangun berdasarkan data operasional perusahaan, kemudian diverifikasi dan divalidasi menggunakan uji hipotesis sehingga layak digunakan sebagai dasar eksperimen. Sebanyak dua belas skenario dikembangkan dengan memvariasikan batas waktu penyimpanan WIP (60, 75, dan 90 hari) serta batas proporsi inventory non-moving (20%, 25%, dan 30%). Kinerja setiap skenario dievaluasi berdasarkan frekuensi terjadinya overload dan rata-rata jumlah inventory harian. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa penerapan kebijakan pengendalian waktu penyimpanan dan pembatasan proporsi inventory non moving mampu menurunkan akumulasi inventory sehingga kapasitas gudang dapat dimanfaatkan secara lebih optimal. Temuan penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar pengambilan keputusan dalam penyusunan kebijakan pengelolaan gudang in-transit yang lebih efektif.

The in-transit warehouse serves as a temporary storage area connecting the production process to finished goods storage. The accumulation of work in process (WIP) increases warehouse occupancy and leads to overload conditions, highlighting the need to evaluate warehouse capacity. This study aims to evaluate the required capacity of an in-transit warehouse by implementing operational policy improvements without expanding the warehouse area. A Discrete Event Simulation (DES) approach was employed using AnyLogic software to represent the warehouse operations dynamically. The simulation model was developed based on the company's operational data and subsequently verified and validated through hypothesis testing to ensure its reliability for experimental analysis. Twelve improvement scenarios were designed by varying the maximum WIP storage duration (60, 75, and 90 days) and the allowable proportion of dead stock (20%, 25%, and 30%). The performance of each scenario was evaluated using two response variables: overload frequency and average daily inventory level. The simulation results indicate that controlling storage duration and limiting the proportion of dead stock effectively reduce inventory accumulation and improve warehouse capacity utilization. These findings provide managerial insights for developing more effective operational policies for in-transit warehouse management
