Abstract
Kegiatan magang industri ini dilaksanakan di PT Pertamina Patra Niaga SH C&T Regional Jatimbalinus Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) Juanda pada periode April hingga Juli 2025. Laporan ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dan menganalisis kinerja instalasi pompa sentrifugal split casing PMK (Fire Fighting Water Pump, Unit P-702B) tipe Pentair Aurora Model 8-481-21 pada sistem hydrant pemadam kebakaran AFT Juanda, serta mendukung implementasi keselamatan kerja melalui penyusunan denah jalur evakuasi keselamatan (HSSE) sesuai standar ISO 23601. Metodologi evaluasi teknis dilakukan melalui pengumpulan data spesifikasi, diagram instalasi perpipaan, inspeksi lapangan, serta perhitungan mekanika fluida teoritis yang mencakup kecepatan aliran fluida, bilangan Reynolds (Re), faktor gesekan pipa (f), kerugian head mayor dan minor, head statis, hingga head efektif instalasi (H eff). Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa pada debit operasional Q = 454,2 m3/jam (0,1262 m3/s), kecepatan aliran fluida pada pipa suction (D = 10 inci) sebesar 2,49 m/s dengan total head loss suction sebesar 0,901 m. Pada sisi discharge, kombinasi penggunaan pipa 8 inci,6 inci, dan 4 inci menghasilkan kerugian head mayor total sebesar 353,068 m dan kerugian head minor total sebesar 98,139 m, di mana pipa 4 inci mengalami lonjakan kecepatan aliran yang sangat tinggi mencapai 15,37 m/s. Total kerugian head instalasi HLT tercatat sebesar 452,108 m, sehingga menghasilkan nilai head efektif instalasi Heff sebesar 611,41 m. Kecepatan aliran yang berlebihan pada pipa discharge 4 inci menyebabkan kerugian gesek yang sangat besar sehingga instalasi perpipaan tidak memenuhi batas kecepatan ijin aliran fluida cair yang efisien. Oleh karena itu, direkomendasikan adanya perencanaan ulang (redesign) sistem perpipaan discharge atau pemilihan spesifikasi pompa pengganti yang lebih sesuai seperti Pompa Sentrifugal Multistage, serta pelaksanaan pemeliharaan preventif dan korektif secara berkala untuk menjaga keandalan operasional sistem pemadam kebakaran di AFT Juanda.

This industrial internship was conducted at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga SH C&T Regional Jatimbalinus Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) Juanda from April to July 2025. This report aims to evaluate and analyze the performance of the PMK split casing centrifugal pump installation (Fire Fighting Water Pump, Unit P-702B) Pentair Aurora Model 8-481-21 in the AFT Juanda fire fighting hydrant system, as well as to support occupational safety implementation through the design of emergency evacuation route maps (HSSE) according to ISO 23601 standards. The technical evaluation methodology involved collecting specification data, piping installation drawings, conducting local field inspections, and performing theoretical fluid mechanics calculations covering flow velocity, Reynolds number (Re), pipe friction factor (f), major and minor head losses, static head, and total effective installation head (H eff). The calculation results indicate that at an operational discharge Q = 454,2 m3/h (0,1262 m3/s), the fluid flow velocity in the suction pipe (D = 10 inch) is 2,49 m/s with a total suction head loss of 0,901 m. On the discharge side, the combination of 8 inch,6 inch, and 4 inch pipes results in a total major head loss of 353,068 m and a total minor head loss of 98,139 m, where the 4 inch pipe exhibits an excessively high flow velocity of 15,37 m/s. The total installation head loss (HLT) was recorded at 452,108 m, yielding a total effective installation head (H eff) of 611,41 m. The excessive velocity in the 4 inch discharge pipe causes a severe spike in friction losses, failing to satisfy the allowable velocity limits for efficient fluid flow. Consequently, it is recommended to redesign the discharge piping layout or select an alternative pump specification, such as a Multistage Centrifugal Pump, alongside implementing routine preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure the operational reliability of the fire fighting system at AFT Juanda.
