Abstract

As one of the internationally recognized tourist destinations, Bali offers a diverse range of tourism objects and attractions distributed across its entire territory. Badung Regency, particularly the Canggu area, has experienced the phenomenon of overtourism, which has led to increasing spatial density within the area. This condition has resulted in limited spaces capable of accommodating tourists’ needs to obtain a holistic resting experience. Furthermore, the development of the tourism sector in Badung Regency has not yet been optimally utilized as a medium for introducing and educating tourists, both domestic and international. How should the interior design of TUI Blue Berawa Hotel be conceived to enhance its image among other accommodations in Badung Regency while being grounded in Balinese culture? How should the interior design of TUI Blue Berawa Hotel be developed to support visitor well-being? This design process applies the design thinking method, encompassing the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The application of this method commences with data collection and analysis of the hotel's existing conditions, followed by the formulation of the primary problem statement, the development of the design concept, the advancement of the design, and concludes with design validation. The results of this design not only provide a conceptual basis for the development of designs that support a better tourist experience but also become a strategic effort in supporting the preservation and introduction of local Balinese culture.
