Abstract
Secara integratif, kenyamanan emosional pasien pasca-LASIK terbentuk melalui ruang yang aman secara sensorik, mudah dipahami, dan menenangkan.=Post-LASIK patients may experience visual sensitivity and discomfort that affect their emotional comfort while being in an eye clinic. Therefore, interior quality needs to be understood as part of the patient’s Healing Environment experience. This study aims to identify the relationship between interior principles that shape the Healing Environment and the emotional dimensions of Pleasure–Arousal–Dominance, as well as to explore the perceived emotional comfort of post-LASIK patients at National Eye Center Surabaya.
This study employed a mixed methods explanatory sequential design. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires involving 64 respondents and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman Rank correlation. Qualitative data were obtained through interviews with 15 respondents and analyzed through coding. Therapeutic Environment Factors were used as a framework for qualitative data exploration and interview development.
The findings show that Comfortable Interior has the most consistent relationship with patients’ emotional dimensions, particularly arousal. Well-Functioning Space contributes to patients’ sense of control, while Relaxing Atmosphere strengthens a calm and comfortable ambience. Integratively, post-LASIK patients’ emotional comfort is formed through spaces that are sensorially safe, easy to understand, and calming.
