Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan strategi integrasi desain biofilik yang kontekstual pada permukiman padat pesisir di koridor Jl. MT Haryono, Kota Pasuruan, untuk mendukung peningkatan kualitas hidup masyarakat. Metode penelitian meliputi observasi terstruktur, kuesioner skala Likert berbasis self-reported perception, dan wawancara ahli dengan analisis konten tematik. Empat belas pola desain biofilik digunakan sebagai dasar operasional, sedangkan prinsip biophilic urbanism menjadi perspektif tambahan pada skala kawasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa elemen biofilik belum tersebar merata dan dipengaruhi kepadatan bangunan, lebar gang, vegetasi, pencahayaan, sirkulasi udara, serta drainase. Vegetasi, aliran udara, pencahayaan alami, dan ruang teduh dipersepsikan paling relevan. Sebaliknya, elemen air dapat berubah dari unsur restoratif menjadi sumber ketidaknyamanan akibat genangan, bau, dan banjir rob. Strategi diarahkan pada penghijauan mikro, peningkatan kenyamanan ruang, pengelolaan air, ruang sosial, pemeliharaan warga, kolaborasi, serta penerapan bertahap. Kebaruan penelitian terletak pada pembacaan fungsional dan kontekstual elemen biofilik pada permukiman padat pesisir.

This study formulates context-sensitive biophilic design integration strategies for a high-density coastal settlement along the Jl. MT Haryono corridor in Pasuruan City to support community quality of life. The methods included structured observation, a Likert-scale questionnaire based on self-reported perception, and expert interviews analyzed through thematic content analysis. The 14 Patterns of Biophilic Design served as the operational basis, while biophilic urbanism provided a supplementary area-scale perspective. The findings show that biophilic elements are unevenly distributed and influenced by building density, alley width, vegetation, natural lighting, airflow, and drainage conditions. Vegetation, airflow, natural lighting, and shaded spaces were perceived as the most relevant elements. In contrast, water may shift from a restorative element to a source of discomfort because of stagnant water, odors, and tidal flooding. The proposed strategies include micro-greening, spatial comfort improvement, water management, social spaces, community maintenance, collaboration, and phased implementation.
