Abstract
Coal handling system merupakan sistem pendukung kritis dalam operasional Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) yang berperan dalam penerimaan, penyimpanan, dan pengangkutan batu bara menuju boiler, sehingga rentan terhadap kegagalan yang dapat mengganggu pasokan bahan bakar. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi kinerja coal handling system pada PT. XYZ menggunakan metode Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) berdasarkan data historis Work Order Juni 2020 – Juni 2026 pada 17 komponen. Parameter distribusi Weibull (β, θ) diestimasi dari data Time to Failure dan Time to Repair untuk menghitung reliability, maintainability, dan availability komponen, lalu dimodelkan melalui Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) seri-paralel untuk memperoleh keandalan sistem. Hasil menunjukkan availability komponen tertinggi dicapai CNVR-930B (99,3%) dan CNVR-920B (99,2%), sedangkan availability sistem hanya 61–62%, jauh lebih rendah dibanding komponen individual, karena tahap Reclaim Batubara yang tersusun seri tanpa redundansi menjadi masalah utama reliability sistem. Berdasarkan pola laju kegagalan, teridentifikasi 3 dari 17 komponen berkarakteristik Increasing Failure Rate (β>1) sebagai kandidat preventive maintenance: CNVR-920A (β=1,026), CNVR-930A (β =1,514), dan CRSH-100B (β=1,119). Interval preventive maintenance direkomendasikan pada tiga skenario reliability target (90%, 80%, 70%), dengan hasil Reliability Under Preventive Maintenance (RUPM) mengonfirmasi bahwa penerapan preventive maintenance periodik konsisten meningkatkan reliability dibanding tanpa PM, terbesar pada CRSH-100B. Hasil penelitian ini menjadi dasar pengambilan keputusan perusahaan dalam menyusun strategi pemeliharaan yang lebih efisien dan tepat sasaran guna meningkatkan keandalan dan ketersediaan sistem ketenagalistrikan.

The coal handling system is a critical support system in Steam Power Plant (PLTU) operations, responsible for receiving, storing, and transporting coal to the boiler, making it prone to failures disrupting fuel supply. This study evaluates the performance of the coal handling system at PT. XYZ using the Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) method, based on historical Work Order data from June 2020 to June 2026 across 17 components. Weibull distribution parameters (β, θ) were estimated from Time to Failure and Time to Repair data to calculate component reliability, maintainability, and availability, then modeled through a series-parallel Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) to obtain overall system reliability. Results show the highest component availability was achieved by CNVR-930B (99.3%) and CNVR920B (99.2%), while system availability stabilized at only 61–62%, far lower than any individual component, as the series-configured, non-redundant Coal Reclaim stage is the main reliability bottleneck. Based on failure-rate patterns, 3 of the 17 components exhibited an Increasing Failure Rate characteristic (β > 1) and were identified as preventive maintenance candidates: CNVR-920A (β = 1.026), CNVR-930A (β = 1.514), and CRSH-100B (β = 1.119). Preventive maintenance intervals were recommended under three reliability-target scenarios (90%, 80%, 70%), and Reliability Under Preventive Maintenance (RUPM) results confirm that periodic preventive maintenance consistently improves reliability compared to the no-PM condition, with the largest improvement observed in CRSH-100B. These findings serve as a basis for the company's decision-making in formulating more efficient and targeted maintenance strategies to improve reliability and availability of the power generation system.
