Abstract
Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK) memiliki kebutuhan belajar yang berbeda dengan anak pada umumnya, sehingga memerlukan lingkungan pendidikan yang dirancang secara spesifik dan adaptif. Di Indonesia, keterbatasan jumlah sekolah khusus serta belum optimalnya integrasi antara layanan medis dan pendidikan masih menjadi tantangan dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan bagi ABK. Menanggapi permasalahan tersebut, NBP Center merencanakan pengadaan Sekolah Khusus ABK “Neurodiversity School” sebagai fasilitas pendidikan yang terintegrasi dengan layanan terapi dan asesmen perkembangan anak. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan konsep desain interior sekolah khusus ABK yang mampu menunjang pengembangan keterampilan hidup (life skills), kemandirian, serta kualitas belajar peserta didik melalui pendekatan multisensory environment. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah Sensory Integration yang mengintegrasikan kebutuhan sensorik Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, dan Cerebral Palsy ke dalam keputusan desain elemen interior. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan penerapan aspek visual, auditori, taktil, dan kinestetik pada keempat ruang melalui pemilihan warna dinding, pencahayaan, material akustik, furnitur bersudut membulat, serta elemen aksesibilitas. Hasil uji validasi desain menunjukkan skor rata-rata di atas 3,26 (skala 1-4) dan seluruh responden (100%) menyatakan desain telah sesuai sebagai desain ideal sekolah khusus ABK. Perancangan ini diharapkan menjadi solusi desain interior yang menjembatani integrasi bidang medis dan pendidikan bagi ABK.

Children with Special Needs (ABK) have different learning needs than children in general, so they require a specifically designed and adaptive educational environment. In Indonesia, the limited number of special schools and the suboptimal integration between medical and educational services still pose challenges in providing education for ABK. In response to these problems, the NBP Center plans to establish a Special School for ABK "Neurodiversity School" as an educational facility integrated with therapy services and child development assessments. This design aims to produce an interior design concept for a special school for ABK that is able to support the development of life skills, independence, and the quality of student learning through a multisensory therapeutic environment approach. The approach used is Sensory Integration, which integrates the sensory needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy into interior design element decisions. Results show the application of visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic aspects across the four rooms through wall color selection, lighting, acoustic materials, rounded-corner furniture, and accessibility elements. The design validation test shows an average score above 3.26 (on a 1-4 scale), with all respondents (100%) stating the design is suitable as an ideal design for a special school for ABK. This design is expected to bridge the integration of medical and educational fields for ABK.
