Abstract

Pantai Congot yang terletak di muara Kali Serang dan Kali Bogowonto, Kabupaten Kulon Progo, mengalami permasalahan erosi. Sehingga, dibangun dua groin eksisting sepanjang 75 meter dengan jarak antar-groin 222 meter. Namun, 2 groin tersebut menimbulkan erosi di area downdrift. Kondisi ini mendorong perlunya desain alternatif struktur pelindung pantai yang lebih efektif untuk menjaga stabilitas garis pantai dalam jangka panjang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi kinerja tiga alternatif desain groin, tipe-L menghadap Barat (LB), tipe L menghadap Timur (LT), dan tipe-T simetris (T), yang dibandingkan terhadap kondisi eksisting pada kondisi morfologi selama 50 tahun. Metode penelitian meliputi analisis hidrologi, estimasi laju erosi DAS Serang dan Bogowonto menggunakan USLE dan Sediment Delivery Yogyakarta, analisis pasang surut, serta pembangkitan gelombang. Evaluasi kinerja desain dilakukan melalui sepuluh titik monitoring dengan indikator tinggi gelombang signifikan (Hs), kecepatan arus, elevasi dasar, serta profil melintang dan profil memanjang pantai, dilengkapi analisis perubahan posisi kontur garis pantai dan konsentrasi sedimen tersuspensi (SSC). Analisis konsentrasi sedimen tersuspensi menunjukkan bahwa Muara Serang merupakan sumber pasokan sedimen dominan dengan pengaruh yang bersifat lokal (kurang dari 2,5 km). Hasil analisis menunjukkan Alternatif 3 (T) memberikan kinerja paling baik di antara ketiga alternatif. Alternatif T menghasilkan profil elevasi dasar paling tinggi dan paling seragam sepanjang pantai. Pada evaluasi perubahan garis pantai tahun 2080, Alternatif T merupakan satu-satunya alternatif yang menghasilkan akresi pada seluruh titik pengamatan dengan pergeseran kontur 0 m berkisar 93,53–206,60 m. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, Alternatif 3 (T) direkomendasikan sebagai desain struktur pelindung pantai yang paling optimal untuk diterapkan di Pantai Congot.

Congot Beach, located between Serang and Bogowonto Rivers in Kulon Progo Regency, has been experiencing coastal erosion. To mitigate this problem, two existing groins, each 75 m long and spaced 222 m apart, were constructed. However,these structures have induced erosion in the downdrift area. This condition highlights the need for a more effective alternative coastal protection design to maintain long-term shoreline stability. This study aims to evaluate the performance of three alternative groin head configurations: west-facing L-shaped (LB), east facing L-shaped (LT), and symmetrical T-shaped (T), in comparison with the existing condition under a 50-year morphological simulation. The research methodology includes hydrological analysis, estimation of erosion rates in the Serang and Bogowonto watersheds using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) and Sediment Delivery Yogyakarta (SDR), tidal analysis, and wave generation. The performance of each alternative was evaluated using ten monitoring points based on significant wave height (Hs), current velocity, bed elevation, cross-shore and longshore beach profiles, complemented by analyses of shoreline contour displacement and suspended sediment concentration (SSC). The SSC analysis indicates that the Serang River mouth is the dominant sediment source, with its influence being localized to within approximately 2.5 km of the river mouth. The results show that Alternative 3 (T) provides the best overall performance among the three alternatives. This configuration produces the highest and most uniform bed elevation profile along the coastline. In the 2080 shoreline assessment, Alternative T is the only configuration that results in accretion at all monitoring points, with the 0 m contour shifting seaward by 93.53–206.60 m. Based on these findings, Alternative 3 (T) is recommended as the most suitable coastal protection structure for implementation at Congot Beach.
