Abstract
Stabilitas kendaraan merupakan aspek penting dalam menjamin keselamatan berkendara, khususnya pada kendaraan Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) yang memiliki variasi pembebanan penumpang. Toyota Avanza 2013 dan Toyota Avanza 2021 memiliki perbedaan konfigurasi chassis, sistem penggerak, serta karakteristik suspensi yang memengaruhi respons dinamis kendaraan saat bermanuver. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh penambahan parameter anti-roll bar terhadap karakteristik kestabilan kedua kendaraan menggunakan MATLAB/Simulink Vehicle Dynamics Blockset.
Simulasi dilakukan menggunakan manuver Double Lane Change berdasarkan standar ISO 3888 dengan variasi kecepatan 30 km/jam, 40 km/jam, 50 km/jam, dan validasi pada kecepatan 80 km/jam, serta tiga variasi pembebanan penumpang (Load 1, Load 2, dan Load 3). Parameter kekakuan anti-roll bar depan diperoleh melalui pemodelan menggunakan ANSYS, sedangkan anti-roll bar belakang dihitung menggunakan metode quasi-static jacking. Analisis dilakukan terhadap tire friction force, tire lateral force, roll angle, tire side slip angle, path tracking, dan understeer gradient (Kus). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan parameter anti-roll bar meningkatkan roll stiffness kendaraan sehingga mampu mengurangi perpindahan beban lateral dan meningkatkan kestabilan kendaraan. Pada pengujian kecepatan 30–50 km/jam, seluruh variasi pembebanan tidak mengalami fenomena skid maupun wheel lift. Pada pengujian 80 km/jam, kedua kendaraan tetap menunjukkan karakteristik understeer dengan nilai Kus sebesar 6,41–20,06 deg/g. Toyota Avanza 2021 memiliki roll angle lebih besar akibat karakteristik suspensi yang lebih lunak, namun menunjukkan kestabilan lateral yang lebih baik dibandingkan Toyota Avanza 2013 setelah penambahan parameter anti-roll bar.

Vehicle stability is an important aspect of driving safety, particularly for Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs) operating under various passenger loading conditions. The Toyota Avanza 2013 and Toyota Avanza 2021 differ in chassis configuration, drivetrain layout, and suspension characteristics, resulting in different dynamic responses during maneuvering. This study aims to analyze the effect of incorporating anti-roll bar parameters on the stability of both vehicles using MATLAB/Simulink Vehicle Dynamics Blockset. The simulations were conducted using the Double Lane Change maneuver based on ISO 3888 with vehicle speeds of 30 km/h, 40 km/h, 50 km/h, and validation at 80 km/h under three passenger loading conditions. The front anti-roll bar stiffness was obtained through finite element modeling using ANSYS, while the rear anti-roll bar stiffness was determined using the quasi-static jacking method. The analyzed parameters included tire friction force, tire lateral force, roll angle, tire side slip angle, path tracking, and the understeer gradient (Kus). The results indicate that the addition of anti-roll bar parameters increases vehicle roll stiffness, reduces lateral load transfer, and improves vehicle stability. At speeds of 30–50 km/h, no skid or wheel lift occurred under any loading condition. During the 80 km/h validation, both vehicles maintained understeer characteristics with Kus values ranging from 6.41 to 20.06 deg/g. Although the Toyota Avanza 2021 exhibited a higher roll angle due to its softer suspension characteristics, it demonstrated better lateral stability than the Toyota Avanza 2013 after the inclusion of the anti-roll bar parameters.
