Abstract
Kawasan Pantai Utara Semarang merupakan wilayah pesisir strategis yang mendukung aktivitas industri maritim, pelabuhan, permukiman, dan pariwisata. Namun demikian, kawasan ini menghadapi permasalahan lingkungan yang kompleks, terutama pencemaran sampah maritim, Di sisi lain, kebutuhan energi listrik di Kota Semarang terus meningkat dan masih didominasi oleh penggunaan energi fosil, sehingga diperlukan pengembangan sumber energi alternatif yang terbarukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi pemanfaatan sampah maritim sebagai sumber energi listrik melalui konsep waste to energy di kawasan pesisir Pantai Utara Semarang. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Pantai Maron dan Pantai Tambakrejo dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan deskriptif melalui observasi lapangan, pengambilan sampel, pengujian laboraturium, dan analisis hasil potensi energi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik sampah maritim dipengaruhi oleh paparan lingkungan laut yang menyebabkan variasi kadar air, kadar abu, dan kadar garam sehingga memengaruhi nilai kalor serta efisiensi konversi energi. Perhitungan potensi energi menunjukkan bahwa teknologi insinerator menghasilkan energi listrik sebesar 219,643 kW di Pantai Maron dan 143,995 kW di Pantai Tambakrejo. Teknologi gasifikasi menghasilkan potensi energi listrik tertinggi, yaitu 305,059 kW di Pantai Maron dan 199,992 kW di Pantai Tambakrejo. Sementara itu, teknologi pirolisis menghasilkan energi listrik sebesar 80,206 kW di Pantai Maron dan 63,978 kW di Pantai Tambakrejo melalui konversi sampah plastik menjadi minyak pirolisis. Berdasarkan perbandingan karakteristik sampah, dan hasil perhitungan di kawasan pesisir Pantai Utara Semarang, teknologi gasifikasi dipilih sebagai teknologi yang digunakan dalam pemanfaatan sampah maritim menjadi energi listrik. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi pengembangan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Sampah (PLTSa) berbasis sampah maritim di kawasan pesisir Indonesia.

The North Coast area of Semarang is a strategic coastal region supporting maritime industry, port operations, settlements, and tourism. However, the area faces complex environmental challenges, particularly marine debris pollution. Meanwhile, the demand for electricity in Semarang City continues to rise and remains dominated by fossil fuel consumption, necessitating the development of renewable alternative energy sources. This study aims to assess the potential of utilizing marine debris as a source of electrical energy through a waste-to-energy approach in the North Coast area of Semarang. The research was conducted at Maron Beach and Tambakrejo Beach using quantitative and descriptive methods, involving field observations, sampling, laboratory testing, and analysis of energy potential. The results indicate that the characteristics of marine debris are influenced by exposure to the marine environment, causing variations in moisture, ash, and salt content, which in turn affect calorific value and energy conversion efficiency. Energy potential calculations show that incineration technology yields 219.643 kW of electricity at Maron Beach and 143.995 kW at Tambakrejo Beach. Gasification technology yields the highest electrical energy potential: 305.059 kW at Maron Beach and 199.992 kW at Tambakrejo Beach. Meanwhile, pyrolysis technology generates 80.206 kW of electricity at Maron Beach and 63.978 kW at Tambakrejo Beach through the conversion of plastic waste into pyrolysis oil. Based on a comparison of waste characteristics and calculation results for the North Coast area of Semarang, gasification technology was selected as the preferred method for converting marine debris into electrical energy. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the development of marine debris-based waste-to-energy power plants in Indonesia's coastal regions.
