Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan pembaruan interior pada Sapta Nawa Resort Gresik, sebuah hotel yang telah beroperasi sejak tahun 1996 di kawasan strategis Kabupaten Gresik, Jawa Timur. Seiring meningkatnya persaingan industri hospitality dan perubahan ekspektasi pengguna, kondisi interior hotel dinilai memerlukan peremajaan fasilitas, penataan ulang sirkulasi, serta penguatan identitas visual agar mampu menghadirkan pengalaman menginap yang berkualitas. Gresik, sebagai kota industri, menjadikan segmen utama tamu hotel sebagai pelaku bisnis dengan durasi menginap yang relatif panjang, sehingga kenyamanan emosional ruang menjadi kebutuhan yang sangat penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang interior Sapta Nawa Resort Gresik dengan pendekatan user experience melalui konsep Emotional Design. Pendekatan ini diterapkan guna menciptakan ruang yang tidak hanya fungsional, tetapi juga mampu membangun suasana yang hangat, akrab, dan homey, sehingga pengunjung dapat merasakan keterikatan emosional dan kenangan yang berkesan selama menginap. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Design Thinking yang didukung oleh pengumpulan data melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara, studi literatur, dan penyebaran kuesioner. Hasil perancangan diharapkan mampu menghadirkan interior yang merespons identitas budaya lokal Gresik, meningkatkan kualitas pengalaman emosional pengguna, serta memperkuat daya saing hotel sebagai akomodasi unggulan di Kabupaten Gresik.

This research is motivated by the need for interior renovation at Sapta Nawa Resort Gresik, a hotel that has been operating since 1996 in a strategic area of Gresik Regency, East Java. With increasing competition in the hospitality industry and changing user expectations, the hotel's interior is deemed to require facility rejuvenation, circulation reorganization, and strengthening of its visual identity to be able to provide a quality stay experience. Gresik as an industrial city, makes the main segment of hotel guests are business people with relatively long stays, so emotional comfort of the space is a very important need. This research aims to redesign the interior of Sapta Nawa Resort Gresik with a user experience approach through the concept of Emotional Design. This approach is applied to create a space that is not only functional but also able to build a warm, intimate, and homey atmosphere, so that visitors can feel an emotional attachment and memorable memories during their stay. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method supported by data collection through field observations, interviews, literature studies, and questionnaires. The design results are expected to be able to present an interior that responds to the local cultural identity of Gresik, improve the quality of the user's emotional experience, and strengthen the hotel's competitiveness as a leading accommodation in Gresik Regency.
