Abstract

Modularitas merupakan pendekatan yang berakar pada teori modulor oleh Le Corbusier, dimana sebuah sistem arsitektur distandarisasi berdasarkan pada dimensi dan skala tubuh manusia. Dalam perkembangannya, modular dianggap menjadi sebuah sistem produk arsitektur dimana bangunan dipahami sebagai sebuah komponen yang distandarisasi dan diproduksi. Hal ini juga mendorong sistem modular (prefabrikasi) tidak hanya sebagai pendekatan konstruksi, tetapi juga sebagai dasar dalam menyusun dan mengembangkan elemen bangunan sehingga membentuk suatu sistem arsitektur. Pendekatan ini menjadi semakin relevan pada kawasan perkotaan yang menghadapi peningkatan kebutuhan hunian, keterbatasan lahan, tuntunan percepatan pembangunan, serta perubahan karakteristik dan kebutuhan ruang masyarakat. Proyek ini mengeksplorasi penerapan teori arsitektur modular sebagai sistem organisasi ruang pada perancangan hunian vertikal sehingga mampu merespon perkembangan kebutuhan ruang masyarakat melalui implementasi teknologi Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC).

Modularity is an approach rooted in Le Corbusier's Modulor theory, in which architectural systems are standardized based on the dimensions and scale of the human body. In its development, modularity is considered to be an architectural product system where buildings are understood as standardized and manufactured components. This also encourages the modular (prefabricated) system not only as a construction approach, but also as a basis for composing and developing building elements to form an architectural system. This approach is becoming increasingly relevant in urban areas facing increasing housing needs, land limitations, demands for accelerated development, and changes in the characteristics and spatial needs of the community. This project explores the application of modular architectural theory as a spatial organization system in vertical residential design so that it can respond to the development of community spatial needs through the implementation of Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) technology.
