Abstract

Katalis oksida campuran La2O3-CeO2-NiO disintesis dengan metode sol-gel in-situ melalui penambahan asam sitrat sebagai agen gelasi. Katalis disintesis dengan variasi komposisi jumlah mol 0; 0,25; 0,50; 0,75; dan 1. Katalis dikarakterisasi dengan XRD, FTIR, FESEM, dan adsorpsi-desorpsi nitrogen (N2). Hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan bahwa variasi La/Ce mempengaruhi fase kristal, morfologi, luas permukaan, dan porositas katalis. Pola XRD mengindikasikan terbentuk oksida campuran yang terdiri atas fase La2O3, CeO2, NiO. Hasil FESEM menunjukkan morfologi partikel yang tidak beraturan, beragregasi, dan memiliki permukaan kasar. Hasil adsorpsi–desorpsi nitrogen menunjukkan katalis mampu meningkatkan luas permukaan. Aktivitas katalitik katalis La-Ce-Ni diuji dengan reaksi deoksigenasi pada suhu 380 °C selama 3 jam di bawah atmosfer nitrogen (N2), kemudian produk dianalisis dengan GC-MS dan FTIR liquid. Katalis campuran La-Ce-Ni komposisi 0,5 menghasilkan yield produk cair tertinggi sebesar 53,08% dan selektivitas hidrokarbon tertinggi sebesar 97,46%. Produk cair hasil GC-MS didominasi oleh hidrokarbon pada rentang fraksi diesel, sedangkan hasil FTIR liquid menunjukkan pergeseran pita C=O dan hilangnya pita C–O yang menandakan berkurangnya senyawa oksigenat setelah reaksi. Katalis ini berpotensi memiliki kinerja terbaik pada deoksigenasi minyak jelantah menjadi biofuel.

La2O3-CeO2-NiO oxide mixed catalysts were synthesised using the in-situ sol-gel method withthe addition of citric acid as a gelation agent. The catalysts were synthesised with compositionvariations of number of moles 0; 0.25; 0.50; 0.75, and 1. The catalysts were characterised usingXRD, FTIR, FESEM, and nitrogen (N₂) adsorption–desorption. The characterisation resultsshowed that the La/Ce variation affected the crystalline phase, morphology, surface area, andporosity of the catalysts. The XRD patterns indicated the formation of mixed oxides consistingof La2O3, CeO2, Anda NiO, phases. The FESEM results showed irregular, aggregated particleswith rough surfaces. The nitrogen adsorption–desorption results showed that the catalystsincreased the surface area. The catalytic activity of the La–Ce–Ni catalysts was tested througha deoxygenation reaction at 380 °C for 3 hours under a nitrogen (N₂) atmosphere, after whichthe products were analysed using GC-MS and liquid FTIR. The La-Ce-Ni mixed catalyst witha composition of 0.5 achieved the highest liquid product yield of 53.08% and the highesthydrocarbon selectivity of 97.46%. The liquid product analyzed by GC-MS was dominated byhydrocarbons in the diesel fraction range, while FTIR analysis of the liquid showed a shift inthe C=O band and the disappearance of the C–O band, indicating a reduction of oxygenatedcompounds after the reaction. This catalyst has the potential to perform best in thedeoxygenation of waste cooking oil into biofuel.
