Abstract
Magang Industri ini dilaksanakan di Departemen Welding Workshop Facility PT. Kaltim Prima Coal dengan tujuan menganalisis kerusakan dump body ESCO akibat abrasi dan benturan material tanah selama kegiatan operasional penambangan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur, observasi lapangan, serta analisis data hasil inspeksi dan perbaikan menggunakan metode Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) dan Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kerusakan utama berupa keausan, penipisan pelat, retak, deformasi, dan kerusakan sambungan las disebabkan oleh gesekan material secara terus-menerus serta benturan material berukuran besar saat proses pemuatan. Oleh karena itu, inspeksi berkala, proses perbaikan yang sesuai standar, dan pengendalian operasional menjadi langkah penting untuk meningkatkan keandalan, memperpanjang umur pakai dump body, serta mendukung efektivitas kegiatan pemeliharaan di PT. Kaltim Prima Coal.

This Industrial Internship was conducted at the Welding Workshop Facility Department of PT. Kaltim Prima Coal to analyze ESCO dump body failures caused by abrasion and impact from mining materials during operational activities. The study employed literature review, field observation, and analysis of inspection and repair data using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methods. The results indicate that the main failures include wear, plate thinning, cracks, deformation, and weld joint damage caused by continuous material friction and the impact of large rocks during the loading process. Therefore, periodic inspections, proper repair procedures, and effective operational control are essential to improve dump body reliability, extend its service life, and support maintenance effectiveness at PT. Kaltim Prima Coal.
